Venom and Black Cat Included In Spider-Man: Homecoming Universe

Marvel are going the extra mile with their Spider-Man: Homecoming reboot. Not only will this re-casted feature put Englishman Tom Holland in the Peter Parker hot seat, but it will lay the foundation for a couple of spinoffs in the form of Venom and Black Cat.

Since Sony secured the services of Mad Max: Fury Road and The Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy for the part of Venom, the horror/science-fiction installment was said to be a standalone entity from filmmaker Ruben Fleischer. But as Marvel head Kevin Feige and Sony's own Amy Pascal told the press via Tom Holland Updates, these films will relate to the Homecoming world.

Venom and Cat Will Be Connected, But Outside NYC Bubble

Sitting side-by-side to open up about the July 7 blockbuster Spider-Man: Homecoming, attention shifted to their slated pictures that will expand on the comic books. While Feige kept his council, Pascal felt free to reveal that the movies will be tied together down the track.

"It will all take place in the world we are now creating for Peter Parker," she said. "It'll be adjunct to it, it may be different locations, but it will all still be in the same world and they will be connected to each other as well."

Such a scenario lends itself to a Hardy-Holland crossover extravaganza. Is that what they have planned?

"There's always a chance," Pascal replied. "I think one of the things that Kevin has done with Marvel that was so brilliant is by bringing the fans along and making each movie seem like a chapter in a book. That you have to read that chapter in order to go forward, and I think the investment that fans get to feel in being part of a larger story and understanding what's happening, I think is something that I know Sony would want in everything."

Reviewer: Homecoming Is The Real Amazing Spider-Man

Amazing Spider-Man Homecoming

Los Angeles-based freelance writer DanielR (@DanielRPK) is one of the first to see a screening of Spider-Man: Homecoming before it opens in a couple of weeks time. He took to social media to say that the title is well and truly worth the admission price.

"Best Spider-Man since Spider-Man 2. This movie is so much fun. Great cast. Great action. Villain was... meh. But other than that, great," he wrote."You know, 'Homecoming' really was the perfect title for this film. But you know what title *I* would give it? The AMAZING Spider-Man! Finally, the perfect Spider-Man film I've been waiting for my whole life."
