Tyrese Gibson Steps Up Rock Feud: Fast Franchise All About Dwayne Now

This movie aint big enough for the two, or three of them, it appears. Yes the franchise that is <strong>Fast and Furious continues to act out as something of a soap opera behind the scenes as long time member Tyrese Gibson once again reverted to social media to vent his frustration at co-star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

His attack would come off the back of the studio's decision to delay movie number 9 to April 19, 2020, intimating that Universal are fast tracking a spinoff focused on Johnson's character Luke Hobbs. While this decision is said to have caused a degree of friction by some of the biggest names in the property, one man continues to raise his head above the parapet and make his opinion known.

TG: Fast Family Flies Together, Not Solo

In September when it appeared as though everything was on track, Gibson outlined on his Instagram account that Johnson was going back on his word and purposely screening his calls on the matter. This drama would follow on from the Rock's ongoing beef with series lead Vin Diesel as well as Michelle Rodriguez's threat to abandon Letty and the Fast world over the derision of strong female roles.

"If you move forward with that #Hobbs Movie you will have purposely ignored the heart to heart moment we had in my sprinter," Gibson quipped online. "I don't wanna hear from you until you remember what we talked about. I'm on your timeline cause you're not responding to my texts messages. #FastFamily is just that a family...... We don't fly solo."

Gibson: We Don't Want Another Baywatch On Our Hands

If that post last month seemed somewhat passive aggressive, then his new take this week after the delayed premiere date would be the furthest thing from passive. He took aim at Johnson for making the property about him with the help of his professional colleague Hiram Garcia.

"PSA Congratulations to @TheRock and your brother in law aka 7 bucks producing partner @hhgarcia41 for making the Fast and the Furious franchise about YOU," sniped Gibson. "And like you, DJ even if they call I will not be deleting this post. Gn folks see you in 2020 April #FastFamily right? Nah..... it's about #TeamDewayne #3yrs will it be worth the wait? #NoShaw just Hobbs will this be another #BayWatch? Guys guys just relax I'm just a passionate film critic."

The issue for Gibson is two fold - Johnson has been public about this project early on. Then there is the care factor. This is an action franchise geared at squeezing the maximum amount of entertainment possible and including an extra title before feature 9 really won't cause an uproar.

What do you think? Is Gibson right to be furious or are you keen for a Rock vs. Jason Statham extravaganza?
