Vin Diesel: Groot Will Fight An Avengers Character In Marvel Crossover

Despite being around for a number of years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to have barely touched the surface. With the hero on hero in-fighting taboo being broken twice in 2016 via Captain America: Civil War and with DC's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it looks like a voiceover star from Guardians of the Galaxy has let slip an incredible battle should it come to pass.

Speaking with the press while doing the rounds ahead of Fast 8, Vin Diesel's character Groot seems to have bigger things in store in the Marvel Universe. You know, other than just hanging around with Star-Lord and the gang. Yes, it looks like the tree creature might be facing something bigger and just as green as he is.

Groot v Hulk?

Giving an insight into the plans the studio has down the track, the action turned voiceover star identified Mark Ruffalo's Hulk as a foe in the near future.

"I know somewhere in the universe, you're gonna see Groot and Hulk battle," explained Diesel. "You can write it down somewhere, you're gonna see that poster: Groot vs. Hulk."

With a stand alone Hulk film yet to take place in the prism of this current framework, the filmmakers might be apprehensive to do so after Eric Bana and Edward Norton portrayed the character in quick succession. How a Groot v Hulk dynamic would work is anyone's guess, but Diesel sounded up for the challenge.

Paul Walker's Death Still Hurts Diesel

Appearing at Brazil Comic Con where Entertainment Weekly were fielding questions from Diesel, the actor said that the country brought back fresh memories from his time with Paul Walker on the circuit.

“We’ve felt the loss,” Diesel outlined. “The last three years have been some of the hardest of my life because of losing my brother like that. I’d been to Brazil two times before and both times that I’ve been here, I’ve always been with my brother. Even if I talked on ET in Brazil or any talk show, any press or while we were filming in the favelas, it was Pablo (Walker’s nickname) and me."

While time heals all wounds, this one remains sore for the 49-year old.

“It was a lot of tissues and it was a hard morning for me yesterday because I was here. But the irony is the whole cast reached out and his daughter, Meadow, reached out and all that stuff helps you get through it.”
