Re Re Remix! Daniel Craig is Not Ruling Out Another Bond (or Two)

When somebody references committing suicide in favor of doing something else, we assume their statement is final. So is the case for Daniel Craig, who said he'd rather slit his wrists than do another Bond installment. To confirm just how badly he wanted to exit the franchise, rumors began to circulate that Craig turned down a $150 million offer for two additional installments.

That rumor turned out being unfounded, but the amount still made sense. What, you think $150 million is a bit much? Not when you consider that the Bond installments under Craig have a combined take of $3 billion. Wowza! A worthy investment indeed (for Sony).

While some rumors were unfounded, the truth remained. Daniel Craig repeatedly acknowledged he was done with Bond. But what a difference a day, or year, makes. While sitting in on a panel at the Yew Yorker Festival, the actor showed a change of heart.

Daniel Craig Would Miss Bond

Acknowledging that he did at one time say he'd rather slit his wrists instead of playing Bond again, Craig provided some context on the statement.

"They say that shit sticks, and that definitely stuck. It was the day after filming [had completed on Spectre]. I'd been away from home for a year."

So he's game for another Bond?! Sounds like it, but there is a minor catch. Sony will have to wait for him to complete production on Lucky Logan. And, wait for it, grow out his bleached blonde hair. Turns out the look was a requirement for the role.

No Bond Discussions Just Yet

Though the earlier rumors were based on the fact that Sony was in talks with Daniel Craig, the actor explains that this is definitely not the case.

"Everyone's a bit tired. As far as I'm concerned, I've got the best job in the world. I'll keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it... If I were to stop doing it, I would miss it terribly."

Kicking ass while getting ass? Yeah, I'd miss that too. What the actor likely wouldn't miss is the fact that he seems to suffer a major injury on every installment. Somewhere there is a video of Mathieu Amalric stomping Craig's face in during Quantum of Solace filming. According to the crew, it was brutal.

But is a bit of injury worth millions and millions of dollars? While I'm not sure about Craig, I'll take a shot at playing Bond for that.
