New John Wick: Chapter 2 Images Leaked As Debut Nears

For those dying to see Neo and Morpheus back together again, their wishes have been granted. Well, sort of. John Wick: Chapter 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the smash hit 2014 action thriller. And, this time, Keanu Reeves will be reunited with old friend Lawrence Fishburne alongside rapper Common, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, Riccardo Scamarcio and Australian Ruby Rose. Who you might remember from the Netflix series Orange is the New Black.

After a bounty is put on the head of Wick (Reeves), a whole host of assassins are looking to cash in as the legend comes out of retirement. To add a bit more flair, the setting of Rome, Italy. Directed by the same team as the first installment with Chad Stahelski in the hot seat and David Leitch producing. Leitch will next be seen jumping aboard Marvel with Deadpool 2. But, I digress...

New images from Lionsgate have been provided that expand on the trailer.

Violence Turned Up Full Blast For Follow Up

Action movies are at their best when they are unashamed about the violence. Going to extraordinary lengths to wow the audience with stunning stunts, big explosions and chase sequences that are all an improvement on what has gone before. Fortunately with filmmakers Stahelski and Leitch, their credentials are not up for debate after blowing moviegoers away the first time round.

Having Reeves as the world's deadliest assassin is one thing, but making everyone else terrified of him is another task altogether. Stahelski and Leitch are able to work on this craft better than most, having a background in stunt co-ordination. A skill that helps productions like Captain America: Civil War, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Jurassic World to name a few.

We saw the amount of death and destruction Wick caused in the original when some ill-advised gangsters decided to steal his car and kill his dog. What he will do to assassins trying to rub him out? Yikes!

Reeves Still A Bikie At Heart

Most 52-year-olds are either working extremely hard 9 to 5 or sitting back waiting for retirement. In Keanu Reeves' case, if he's not kicking ass on screen with his weapons and leaping out of burning buildings, he's on his motorcycle burning rubber. All as he patiently waits for John Wick: Chapter 2 to hit cinemas February 10, 2017.

Whether it is at an event or like this week, when he stepped out for lunch in West Hollywood with a friend, Reeves is clearly in his element on his bike. Perhaps he might be hopping on one in the movie?
