Evangeline Lilly Bulks Up For Ant-Man and the Wasp Shoot

While Ryan Reynolds and the Marvel crew have been showing off Josh Brolin's wears as Cable for Deadpool 2, another actor has been quietly prepping for a superhero gig that will get people watching. 38-year old Evangeline Lilly will return to the part of Hope van Dyne for 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp, but rather than being a passive love interest like the Lost star was for the original 2015 installment, this time she will be thrust into the action as Ant-Man's sidekick the Wasp.

This was teased at the conclusion of Peyton Reed's film, seeing an initially reluctant Lilly stick with the project despite her loyalty to filmmaker Edgar Wright who would leave the feature. The Canadian took to social media to illustrate just how many hours has been spent in the gym, giving co-star Paul Rudd a run for his money in the physicality stakes.

Enforcer Evangeline Arrives Off The Bench For Ant-Man 2

Production is currently underway inĀ Atlanta and San Francisco and while the rest of the cast and crew have been shooting their respective scenes, Lilly had to wait her turn. Sporting a tank top and some ripped biceps, the actress urged returning director Reed to get the scenes going.

"#Wasp ready arms," she posted. "They better be. First official day of shooting for me tomorrow! #putmeincoach!"

New additions have already been made to the sequel, seeingĀ Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet Van Dyne), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Walton Goggins (Sonny Burch), Randall Park (Jimmy Woo),Ā Tip "T.I." Harris (Dave) andĀ Laurence Fishburne (Dr. Bill Foster/Goliath) all come into the universe. The returning names includeĀ Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Michael Pena (Luis), Bobby Cannavale (Paxton), Judy Greer (Maggie Lang), Abby Ryder Fortson (Cassie Lang) and David Dastmalchian (Kurt) who all reprise their characters..

The title will follow on from the 2016 ensemble epic Captain America: Civil War, a picture that Rudd engaged in. This is the official synopsis:

"Set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang tries to balance his home life as a father with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, when Hope van Dyne and Hank Pym present him with a new mission, requiring him to team up with van Dyne as the Wasp."

Aussie Soap Star Given Warlock Fan Art Treatment

Lilly's diligence has paid off, but for others, the concept of participating in a Marvel blockbuster is nothing but a pipe dream. Artist Boss Logic would give unheralded Australian soap star Luke Bracey the next best thing though, plugging the former Home & Away actor for the role of Adam Warlock for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

"Hey @JamesGunn I heard you are looking for an actor to play Adam Warlock ? @lukebracey is pretty good :D," they posted.

Far be it for us to judge, but he has an eerily similar aesthetic to Brolin's Cable when that was in the fan art phase.
