Confirmed: Josh Brolin is Deadpool’s Cable!

After being pitched names like Pierce Brosnan, Brad Pitt, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe David Harbour and even Kyle Chandler, it looks like all those discussions and rumors were just a sort of filibuster by the Deadpool team. In the end it will be Josh Brolin -- a decision we love -- that will take the reigns of the character for Deadpool 2. After years of investing his time for the all-CG character Thanos for Marvel, the actor will finally get to show his face.

David Leitch is directing the sequel, with the production now focusing on how to better fill the ranks with other Marvel mutants from Deadpool's neck of the woods. And, unlike the first installment, expect the sequel to be a bit more rich with mutants.

Brolin is Cable

April has been a big month in regards to casting updates for the Deadpool sequel. Not only has it been confirmed (repeatedly) that Brianna Hildebrand's Negasonic Teenage Warhead would be making a return for a larger role, but Zazie Beets has already landed the part of Domino. A part that was originally suggested to be going to Kerry Washington.

While the production crew is focused on further casting, the question now is how Brolin plans to fit Deadpool 2 into his busy schedule. Besides having to work on and promote Avengers: Infinity War, the actor has a ton of other projects in the pipe. He has already agreed to star in Granite Mountain. And let's not forget about Soldado, the sequel to Sicario. And that's just half of it. As he also has agreed to George Clooney's Subrbicon and The Legacy of the Whitetail Deer Hunter.

Even though his schedule might complicate production a bit, it's hard to think of a better choice. In our case, we were rooting for Stephen Lang.
