Feature Trailer for 20th Century Fox's War for the Planet of the Apes.
Following the events of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Caesar and the apes are once again in a war against an army of humans. As the apes suffer heavy losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts as he resolves to avenge his kind. The war pits Caesar against the humans' leader, a ruthless Colonel, in a battle that will determine the fate of their species and Earth's future.
War for the Planet of the Apes is the third film in the remake trilogy and Andy Serkis, Terry Notary, and Karin Konoval are the only actors to be in all three films. Serkis as Caesar, Notary as Rocket, and Konoval as Maurice.
Due to the success of these films and the likely success of War for the Planet of the Apes, there are already plans to make a fourth remake film.
Director Matt Reeves steps back into the chair as this will be his second directorial film in the rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise. The first being Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014).
I am amazed at how well these films do at the box office.
The visual effects still look amazing which is the best part. I still find myself watching the prior films and trailers like this one and forgetting that the apes are CGI, they look and feel so real. Each ape has its own personality and because they look so real, it makes it automatic that the audience becomes emotionally attached to the apes just like a human character...sometimes even more.
Well...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The prior two remake films followed a very similar plot line of the apes versus humans who just cannot seem to co-exist on planet Earth and eventually battle it out in an all out warfare. And, this film is no different as it follows the same formula. How many times will the humans fight the apes? Well, my guess is as long as people keeping running out to the theaters to watch it, we could see many more...a la Transformers, Fast & Furious.
