Trailer for the short film Tampopo Head and the Name of the Dogs.
The experimental narrative film Tampopo Head and the Name of the Dogs explores human relationships as a central subject, alongside exploring the philosophical permutations of human-canine relationships and human identity. It's derived from the director, Toshie Takeuchi's personal interest in the lives of her acquaintances Ed, a quiet philosophy lover, and Hilko who lives with six female dogs. Hilko walks his dogs with wearing a red helmet on. In his house, there is no logical border between a man and his dogs. The initial inspiration of the fairytale-like narrative came from an event that left Takeuchi with an indescribable feeling: Hilko named one of his two puppies 'Toshie' after her, and Ed named the other after his own daughter.
