The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) Feature Trailer
In the second installment of Stephenie Meyer's phenomenally successful Twilight series, the romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of - only to find herself in greater peril than ever before.
Following Bella's ill-fated 18th birthday party, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his family abandon the town of Forks, Washington, in an effort to protect her from the dangers inherent in their world. As the heartbroken Bella sleepwalks through her senior year of high school, numb and alone, she discovers Edward's image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy. Her desire to be with him at any cost leads her to take greater and greater risks.
With the help of her childhood friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), Bella refurbishes an old motorbike to carry her on her adventures. Bella's frozen heart is gradually thawed by her budding relationship with Jacob, a member of the mysterious Quileute tribe, who has a supernatural secret of his own.
When a chance encounter brings Bella face to face with a former nemesis, only the intervention of a pack of supernaturally large wolves saves her from a grisly fate, and the encounter makes it frighteningly clear that Bella is still in grave danger. In a race against the clock, Bella learns the secret of the Quileutes and Edward's true motivation for leaving her. She also faces the prospect of a potentially deadly reunion with her beloved that is a far cry from the one she'd hoped for.
Summit Entertainment gave the green light to New Moon, just one day after Twilight released in cinemas.
Anna Kendrick's dialogue, when her character Jess, and Bella leave the theater, is improvised.
The members of the 'Wolf Pack' all trained together to get buff for filming. Taylor Lautner gained thirty pounds of muscle.
Michael Sheen took the part of Aro without having any idea who the character was, or what Twilight was. He relied on his daughter to fill him in; she was a huge fan of the series.
Love it or loathe it, there's no denying The Twilight Saga is incredibly popular; and for this, it's second installment, all the original cast return for another crisis in the life of Bella Swan.
This time, Edward takes flight after Bella is nearly killed, leaving her in a deep depression. This is hardly a surprise, given that she's never exactly happy with anything, and it's left to Jacob to pick up the pieces.
Jacob has changed a lot since the first Twilight movie; no longer is he the young boy with a hopeless crush. He's now part of a werewolf pack, with a new focus, a strong determination and...oh yeah, he's really buff. What alters the dynamic between him and Bella though is that he is no longer reliant on her, but she becomes wholly reliant on him...until Edward returns.
Poor Jacob, he's destined to always be the loser in this triangle and yet still he's drawn in. Why? Is Bella really worth fighting over?
Elsewhere, Edward is brooding, looking pale, and his affinity with Bella comes to the attention of the Volturi, kind of the head group of vampires and not very nice people, especially the one called Jane. She's really nasty.
The feature trailer above focuses on Jacob, and his changing relationship with Bella and, as you might have guessed from watching it, Edward doesn't feature as heavily this time around. It's Lautner's time to shine and he does. He's very sweet to watch on screen, even if the special FX aren't great, it's good to watch him getting all fired up in a fit of teenage rage and hormones and then suddenly changing into a wolf.
Twilight films are a guilty pleasure for me; I recognize all their flaws- in fact I'm usually the one pointing them out- but you can bet I'll watch them all....and more than once.
