Jurassic World 2 Production Starts As Studio Casts Silence of the Lambs Star

Producer Frank Marshall gave the best indication yet that Jurassic World 2 was well and truly underway. Posting a picture online from his new digs in London, England, his desk was complete with memorabilia of the franchise. Including a poster, action figures and black Jurassic World casing.

Marshall worked alongside legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg behind the scenes on the 2015 installment. As J.A. Bayona takes the director's chair for the hotly anticipated sequel. Debuting on June 22, 2018, Bayona will have his work cut out to deliver the goods for the studio. All while Universal Pictures continues to enjoy the spoils of $1.67b at the box office.

JA Goes Old School For Image Leak

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be back in the saddle for the blockbuster, as Bayona tweeted out an image of two helmets in black and white. A wink and a nod to what has gone before courtesy of the Jurassic Park franchise, 2015 director Colin Trevorrow explained that the switch from himself to Bayona was intended to make the title more of a horror flick. You know, instead of another family adventure outing.

"It will be more suspenseful and scary," said Trevorrow in response. "It's just the way it's designed; it's the way the story plays out. I knew I wanted Bayona to direct it long before anyone ever heard that was a possibility, so the whole thing was just built around his skill set."

Stating the obvious, the filmmaker remarked that a grander scale is not what will determine the success or failure of Jurassic World 2. Rather how they manage the screenplay to get the moviegoers on the edge of their seat.

"I don't think that bigger, better dinosaurs or bigger, more epic-in-scope action sequences are what people are necessarily looking for from this franchise and what they love about it."

Names and characters for those new additions are being kept firmly under wraps, including any plot details at this juncture as the production team get the cameras ready in the U.K. Levine is best known in the terrifying role of Buffalo Bill, but has gone onto other parts in the 1995 thriller Heat and Shutter Island thereafter.
