Robert Downey Jr. Confirms Two Iron Man Favorites Are Back For Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War will be glittered with more A-list stars than any superhero installment has ever embarked upon before. Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) will link with the following: Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Paul Bettany (Vision), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), the entire Guardians of the Galaxy crew and more.

That should be more than enough right? Not for an ensemble of this scope, with the actor taking to social media to confirm the return of two of his most trusted allies dating back to 2008.

Jolly Jonny and Pepper Paltrow Back For More Infinity War

It had to be them. Gwyneth Paltrow and Jon Favreau posed with Downey Jr. for an Instagram snap to illustrate that Happy Hogan (Favreau) and Pepper Potts (Paltrow) will take part in the 2018 extravaganza.

"Infinity Trinity," posted Downey Jr. "#infinitywar 📸and street cred @jimmy_rich represent @marvelstudios and @therealstanlee ..."

Potts would be absent from Captain America: Civil War, with their relationship clearly playing on the mind of Stark during his flamboyant presentation scene to the collective College students. Potts would gain Extremis powers at the conclusion of Iron Man 3, but it is not known to what degree they could be used for Avengers: Infinity War.

Actor and filmmaker Favreau on the other hand has remained a consistent presence in the MCU, showing up briefly for the 2017 title Spider-Man: Homecoming. It was not too much of a stretch of the imagination to see him back, but it is a great sight nonetheless.

Mo-Hawkeye Cut Lends Weight To Thanos Destruction

Some posts on social media are taken at face value, while others lend themselves to a bit of ambiguity and intrigue. As Jeremy Renner showcased himself in his Avengers: Infinity War set chair, it was impossible not to notice a Mohawk haircut sported by the action star.

"Quick rest in my nest!" Renner wrote. "#onset#infinitywar #avengersinfinitywar #marvel#stretchitout #hawkeye #tease #soDOPE#russobros."

What would make this all the more interesting would be his character's aesthetic in the comics. During the Marvel Ultimate printed editions, Hawkeye makes the style change after his family is slaughtered and he ventures on a desperate mission of revenge.

Producer Kevin Feige has made it known that the movie will see Thanos cause much death and destruction, so will this spell doom for Hawkeye's family?
