Daniel Craig Will Be Back As 007: Naomie Harris

Covering four features since 2006 to include Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and 2015's Spectre, Daniel Craig has been in the role of James Bond/007 for the second longest in franchise history. His version offers a more rough and vulnerable portrayal of character's old. Taking his style and tone off the back of the Jason Bourne series.

Yet the love and admiration heaped on the actor appeared to do little to help his appetite. Suggesting at one point he would rather slash his wrists than reprise his role as the secret service agent. Failing to commit to the position as rumors and speculation swirls over a potential successor, one of his co-stars has proclaimed this week that Craig will be back.

Moneypenny Drops Her Two Cents Worth In

Naomie Harris Bond

Speaking to the press outside of Buckingham Palace, Moneypenny actress Naomie Harris argues that Craig has unfinished business in the part.

“I really don’t think that they’ve moved on from Daniel,” she said. “I think there’s a very good chance that Daniel will come back. I think it’s way too early to be thinking about other people at this stage... The fact that the last two Bonds (Spectre and Skyfall) have been the highest-grossing Bond movies of all time shows that people love him as Bond, and they desperately want him to return. And I don’t think Daniel is immune to that… I think he’s very aware, so I think that adds an extra level of pressure. But he has to ultimately do what feels right to him."

Going a further step, Harris thinks the entire operation are rooting for him to come back.

“But I know that we, as a cast, collectively want him back. I know that Barbara and Michael – our producers – desperately want him back, so I think the only person that needs persuading is Daniel.”

Michael Fassbender Days of Future Past

From the latest odds from bookmakers Coral and William Hill, actors Michael Fassbender and James Norton are running at equal 5/2 favorites to take over from Craig, should he quit.

Coral’s Dan Stevens said of Norton’s shortening odds: “Out of nowhere we’ve been hit with a surge of bets for Norton to be the next Bond. Even after slashing the odds to 5/2 we are still seeing money for the actor, leaving us both shaken and stirred.”

Idris Elba, Ryan Gosling, Tom Hiddleston, Aidan Turner, Theo James and Jack Huston are further back in the pack of contenders.
