The Tempest

Trailer

Upscale Font Trailer for The Tempest.

In her big-screen adaptation of Shakespeare's mystical thriller The Tempest, Academy Award-nominated Julie Taymor brings an original dynamic to the story by changing the gender of the sorcerer Prospero into the sorceress Prospera, portrayed by Oscar winner Helen Mirren. Prospera's journey spirals through vengeance to forgiveness as she reigns over a magical island, cares for her young daughter, Miranda, and unleashes her powers against shipwrecked enemies in this exciting, masterly mix of romance, tragicomedy and the supernatural.

I'm blown away....get it? ....Yeah.
While the original work is amazing, this adaptation could work. It has a great cast, and the special FX do look expensive, it reminds me of Mirrormask in a way, which I love that film! Definitely worth a watch.

Tempest..
Honestly i'm not a huge fan of Shakespeare, however, it seems like this adaptation of The Tempest could offer more than the book itself.. I would watch it only because of my dedication to Cinema as a whole.. It is possible that the changes might contribute to the story in a specific way,and for that it is worth the watch.. For the Trailer i have to say that it realy is a typical reimagination(An image) of the Shakespeares,The Tempest,(taking into consideration the unique changes made in the movie), which is an original step.. Considering the fact that as a name it wouldn't attract to many people into watching it..

Could be good
I think "Titus" was one of the most interesting adaptations of Shakespeare ever. I loved Sir Anthony Hopkins in that movie. This looks like it could be good, not only a twist with Prospero being a woman, but also appears to be a fantasy film for grown ups.

Sigur Ros
This looks like a mess, even Sigur ROs couldn't save this trailer, I really don't see this movie being any good or succesful...

Tempest
So, #1, Ariel is a dude, that's fine. Prospero as a woman? Cool. What's worries me is that hundreds of millions of dollars were spent on special effects (and undoubtedly casting) on a production whose first inception was perfroming out of the back of a wagon. See the movie? Hell yes. But also go see the wagon.

come hither into weakness
a kinda decent made for TV thing. But as a movie to watch in the cinema ?? no chance. FAIL

FAILest
Why would they make Prospero a woman and Ariel a guy? There was a connection between those characters that cannot be done the any other way. Caliban isn't ugly enough. Looks like they spent all the ugliness on the special effects. Fail attempt at Shakespeare's masterpiece.
