Maybe

I'm sure the humans will end up "winning." We have enough of those alien movies where we somehow defeat an ungodly gigantic army of super-advanced beings. ... ... ... No, I'm sure this movie would get horrible reviews from people if it didn't have a happy ending.

too much to digest

Man this flick is not even remotely concievable .
However , the key is in the acting performances.
could turnout to be a 'cloverfield/district 9' or the other was as 'surrogates'
its too hard to speculate.
