"You may have seen the marketing for Shark Night 3d, as it's been plastered across the face of everything like blood in a splatterhouse. It stars quiet a few people, most I've unfortunately never heard of, so I can't tell you much about them. Of note, however, Katharine McPhee, the singer/sometimes actress. But especially of note, Joel David Moore, who makes every movie he's in, instantly watchable. From the trailer, it looks like a bunch of dumb kids go to a lakehouse looking to have a good time. This has always proven to be a top notch plan for fun-seeking young people in films past, but for some strange reason, it doesn't seem to pan out just right. Now I say dumb kids.. but I should clarify, they are actually college kids.. which implies some level of maturity and education (well.. it SHOULD imply that, but we'll have to wait and see). So these.. people.. go on their "ultimate summer vacation" to a lake. A salt water lake, to be exact. So they get attacked by sharks! Duh! For some reason, there aren't any neighbors, there aren't any phones, and they KEEP going back in the water! Luckily, there is plenty of beer, hot girls, and a psychotic, shark wielding maniac. Now, this is one of those "RealD" movies, and was designed specifically to just be a campy horror flick with mindless fun. I'll probably check this out, because I've checked every mindless 3d horror movie since 3d became a thing (including the original 13 Ghosts!), but with these exorbinant prices tagged onto this otherwise unnecessary "3D craze", it may not be for everyone who isn't a die hard "B-movie" fan."

.If it's as crazy as Piranha 3D, I'm in!

Black guy does NOT dieYou guys are idiots. The black guy lives. Pay attention. He's on the beach being revived. No black person dies first anymore. That's considered racist now so a white person always dies first. Killing a white person first is not considered racist - apparently just getting even for 100s of years of oppression. Just enjoy a ridiculous move without making dumb comments.

PG-13 ratingAccording to IMDB, the movie is aiming for a PG-13 rating - "The production team has stated it will be a hard PG-13. Sara Paxton quotes, "Don't expect any Piranha 3D content..""

There will be bloodWell after Hostel & ATCM at least we can expect there to be a lot a gore, though all the blood in the world may not make up for the painful story line.
When there is nothing else on, i'll watch it!

Pretty MuchI mean I'm black and I wouldn't have even done that, but yeah definitely messed up that the black guy couldn't make it past the trailer. After seeing a friend get murked from a shark I would have had the ambulance come airlift me out of there lol! Sorry you had to take one for the team but I appreciate the heads up homie!

by kshee23 | May 25, 2011, 11:21PM
hard to writeShark movies gotta be hard to write...cuz in reality you'd just stay out of the water after your friend is eaten by a shark. So they gotta think of reasons for the people to keep goin back in the water
by fresh72 | May 25, 2011, 8:54PM

by EpicSauseMcgee | May 25, 2011, 6:04PM
