Princess of MarsI've read Mr. Burroughs Martian series three times. He would absolutely roll over in his grave to see this version of the movie. Those creatures they were riding certainly didn't look like any thoat the Barsoomians rodr. Tharks had an extra pair of arms and were much taller, John Carter wasn't in any military science experiment, he didn't eat bugs to speak the language, and the
sword fighting sucked. Not once did the Tharks ask him to "sack" which is the word for jump. And the incomparable Dejah Thoris was not a blonde, she had dark hair and was red. I would rate this move eleven thumbs down, if I had eleven thumbs.

Edgar Rice BurroughsEdgar wrote science fiction in the same year as the Russian Revolution (1917). How far ahead of time is THAT? I read *Princess of Mars* knowing that, and also knowing that Radium is far LESS radioacive than other elements, but he wrote that into his story, because that was as far as science had progressed at that time.
