Europe stands on the brink of World War II, yet it seems business per usual in the wonderful world of Italian cinema. But with the war pounding increasingly louder on the door, the studios start to come under pressure from all sides - the government, the banks, and then the media. Surrounded by sexual and political scandal, the secret police, and setbacks at every turn, the production of ‘Tosca’ seems doomed. Yet determined to rise above the deadly political threat, the producer and his crew decide to make one final extraordinary effort to complete the film overnight.
