Even though I never actually watched Dragon Ball: Evolution, WHO ****IN' CARES HOW IT WAS MADE?!! Well, I may it agree with everything about it. But so what if it's different from the Dragon Ball cartoon?

While it is very true that Dragonball, Z, and GT were directed to younger audiences. But this film has the potential to introduce the intricate storyline that is the on-going battle between Goku and Vegeta, where a true decendent from the royal line of Saiyajin's is beaten by a mere warrior Saiyajin sent to Earth as a boy to destroy it, who then reaches the level of Super Saiyajin before he is able to. And about Goku being White or Asian, hes an alien for crying out loud. His birth name is Kakarroto! (or Kakarrot if your watched in English.

I Hope that when people try to do this again, if this one doesn't fail first, they really keep that in mind. This could be as good or better than such epic tales and Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, and Spider-Man.

...by the sorts of people who automatically hate on movies that are inspired by things they remember loving when they grew up based on nothing more than the trailers. I watched Dragonball Z religiously when I was a teenager, and I am snatching up the new dvds as soon as they come out, but even I have to admit that the show lacks something upon repeated viewings. It's just simply not something that is targeted towards people over the age of, let's say... 15 or 16, which is about when I first started watching. And now, ten+ years later, I can barely stand to watch some of the sillier, "comedy" episodes. Don't even get me started on the Dragonball series. Anything with Goku as a little kid was just annoying. and unwatchable, as far as I'm concerned.

I say all that so you'll realize I'm not just some crap-on-cartoons kind of guy. I'm a Dragonball Z fan, but I can still descriminate between good and bad elements of the show. This movie, judging by the trailer, looks like a pretty decent live-action re-imagining of the show, set vaguely before the events of Dragonball Z but towards the end of the Dragonball timeline. As for Goku being a Westerner, I always thought he was drawn as though he WAS a westerner. It's an anime convention in some ways. Regardless, there is certainly nothing overtly "Asian" about the drawn character, and I was actually impressed that they found a real person who looks like the drawn character. But the ultimate argument that shoots down all the "crap! suks! wtf!" from fanboys who are embarassingly old to be caring is this: IT'S A MOVIE TARGETED AT CHILDREN! JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL SHOW WAS WHEN YOU FIRST DISCOVERED IT AND BECAME A FAN!

Get over it.

I am saddened and completely pissed to see what these fools have done to Dragonball. Firstly Goku "WHITE BOY" I don't think so. Roshi should be a dry shrivelled perverted old man, instead we get Chow Yun Fat (who is a great performer ) but not at all right for this part. Bulma forget it and the effects well crap quite frankly. Dragonball is one of those cartoons (sorry anime fans) that was just gagging for a chance to be on the big screen and some bunch of numpties fu.cked it up. Limitless story lines plenty of aventures to follow. Now there's going to be fan base based on rubbish that falls extremely short of capturing the essence of the story and the characters. Speaking of which where is Crillen ? If the makers of this abominatin read this beware no one who has ever seen Dragonball will pay to watch this especially with the credit crunch. I say send it straight to VIDEO, do not pass go and do not collect JACK. Oh yeah and on that note download the series and watch them over rather than watch this joke !!!!!

I say no way to this film. One thing I see in this trailer is how the dragon balls came from aliens that wanted to protect the earth from being destroyed. In the anime series the earths dragonballs were created by Kami. Also Piccalo is not this dark figure, but a Namek who is not dressed at all like Picallo. Not having Krillian in the movie is a huge mistake! The special effects like when Goku is generating his special Kami Amai move is not very convincing. It's almost like the producers really skimped on the special effects. I'm sure I will watch it, if for any other reason to check it out and shake my head side to side and think about how this movie is a flop and this will for sure doom any chances of a good dragon ball Z movie comming out and for sure a sequal. Two Thumbs down here!!!

I think the essientials of the story are gone. Hollywood or better japan had to make a fully cgi movie instead of this. Like Final Fantasy Advent Children, they could make amazing Stunts and such, and they keep all the details together.

for all you haters, let me explain why they had to chance a few things on the movie.....if u idiots really think about it they cant produce the movie exactly to the series. the movie would have been to damn cheesey. trust me if they did that then this movie would have sucked big balls. the previews look bad ass and the special effects look off the hook. i have no doubts that this movie will be bad ass

I believe it possibly is a family member of some well known director doing his debut. But honestly......who ever it was did not see jack crap of the DBZ SAGA. REMEMBER......many fans will be very angry. Well expect it on DVD 4 to 5 months are meny cinems kick out because of no profit.

...this looks SO bad. Don't they know that true fans of the cartoon are gonna stay away from this in droves. The negative reactions to this trailer cannot be numbered. Dumbasses who are excited by explosions and brightly colored special effects should adore this pile of ****, but anyone with a brain in their head should stay away.

When the teaser came out I thought the movie looked horrible but after reading an interview with Jamie Chung (Chi Chi) she stated that film crew didn't like the negative responses so they re-shot some of the scenes in the film including the final fight between Goku and Piccolo. This new trailer just made me feel a little more positive about this movie. No matter what everyone who watched this series back in the days are still gonna see the movie just to see the tranisition from anime to live action movie. I am a die hard fan of Dragonball and I really don't wanna see the same stuff from the anime in the live action movie. I'm talking about the repetitive end results of a huge battle. How many times have we've all seen some character get really pissed off and go super saiyin (or not) and kill off the bad guy (ex: goku vs freeza, goku vs android 13, gohan vs cell, gohan vs bojack, gohan vs cell jr [twice])? That is my only concearn with this movie and the fact that there are some characters that should be in this movie like Goku's best friend Krillin. Even though Krillin was weak **** in the series he was still a much better fighter than Yamcha and was a way more important character. I like the blue outfit that Goku wears in this movie but I cannot stand the fact that the trademark orange one he wears is worn with blue pants. It just looks really weird to me (and I'm sure to others) because everyone is used to the orange shirt and orange pants. As for Piccolo I think he came out great except for one thing, HIS ANTENNAS!!! Like I said before I'm a little bit more positive in seeing this movie now but I guess everyone we'll just have to wait and see.

Esto si que es una pena... tal vez esperaron mucho para sacarla pero creo que es mejor en este momento por todos los buenos efectos que se le pueden dar. Ciertamente cambiaron en gran parte la historia. Primero que nada y lo mas importante, no se supone que Kamisama crea las esferas??? (no un grupo de viejos) segundo: Acaso Goku no utilizaba un traje azul hecho por su abuelo antes de encontrarse con el maestro Roshi??? Tercero: El maestro Roshi era mas viejo y calvo. Cuarto: Goku no staba tan grande cuando conocio a Roshi. Quinto: Que acaso picolo no es verde hoja??? (es el verde caracteristico). entre otros errores. Cierto, Goku tiene mas pelo y bulma es pelo entre celeste o blanco, pero se ve bien. Ojala saquen una version en espanol latino con las voces clasicas (si es que todavia se puede, no se si todavia existen los dobladores) seria una pequena ayuda para la peli. Recuerden que la historia de Dragon Ball sin llegar a Z es de 153 Capitulos que resumiendo todo (sin tomar en cuenta el tiempo que se quedaban viendo las caras) son 30 horas y media de historia... un poco dificil de resumir en un par de horas, tendrian que hacer como 5 pelis para mas o menos hacerla bien. Por que siempre hollywood cambia historioas? es algo que nunca sabremos pero conformemonos con esto ya que es la unica oportunidad de que Goku sea encarnado a menos que lo hubiera hecho akira, y ver un kamehame ha con buenos efectos^^

i'm a BIG FAN of DBZ and i have to say: oh my GOD, this movie is everything but not Dragon Ball. Is a wonderfull serie, but this movie is a REALLY BAD compares to the show.

I wasn't really a fan of DBZ back when it was big, but I feel like this movie is just a few years too late to catch a huge audience, that is unless I'm under estimating the folling that this franchise still has.

Dragonball was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid. and this **** to me is horrible.
i mean if was perfectly kick ass. and by them changing it they're ****ing it up. i mean why didnt they just use a new story in the dragonball universe? instead of ****ing up a good one.

There are alot of differences from the manga, that's to be expected. You cant cover the entire Kami, protector of the earth separating piccolo from himself to become protector of the earth and the dragonballs backstory and have a reasonable length movie. But I still rate this trailer a 0 because Goku would never say he isn't ready for something. Giving Goku internal conflict completely destroys his character.

That whole thing about the dragonballs being made by those guys seems fake. It was probably made by Kami again, but Roshi just says that. The eclipse thing seems stupid, but the cinematics are awesome! Piccolo's green, and Goku did a fricken Angry Kamehameha! Screw the haters, this looks like a kickass film to me.
Yeah, it does have some new looks added to it but this movie isn't trying to remake the whole series! Its just making what made Dragonball great, the flying, action, the adventure, and of course the characters! Its not like you're gonna see the same thing that you did on TV a long time ago recreated into a live action version of the same exact stuff. I'd rather watch stuff that's more original.
