New Spider-Man Tom Holland Lined Up For 2018 Thriller Chaos Walking

Never has the saying 'strike while the iron is hot' has been more relevant than now. Tom Holland, the new Marvel superhero who is in production for Spider-Man: Homecoming, is looking at adding his name to an upcoming 2018 film titled Chaos Walking. If the story is anything to go by, it looks like an ambitious choice for the young Brit looking to make his mark in Hollywood.

Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman has been picked up to helm the adaptation. While he takes the hot seat behind the scenes, scribes will be working to adapt the original novel by Patrick Ness. This Lionsgate picture has the makings of something spectacular if the director, cast and narrative is anything to go by.

Movie Signs Up Star Wars Talent

Daisy Ridley Star Wars

Should Holland and his representatives agree terms, he will link up with fellow Brit Daisy Ridley. The 24-year old scored a huge break herself to play Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as she maintains a busy schedule with the JJ Abrams and Disney franchise.

Charlie Kaufman from the critically acclaimed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is having a hand in the script, as well as Money Monster's Jamie Linden. Someone who is very familiar with Ridley, Allison Shearmur, is also signed on to produce, as she is from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story alongside Doug Davison from Mena.

Fresh Take On A Dystopian World

Chaos Walking Adaptation

The synopsis gives us an idea that this is anything but a regulation story:

A dystopian world where there are no women and all living creatures can hear each others' thoughts in a stream of images, words, and sounds called Noise.

The 2018 movie begins with the premise that all women are killed out from a particular germ. And the new Spidey Holland, if he agrees, will star in the lead role as a boy forced to flee his town. His loyal dog is his one and only companion on a lonely path, until he comes across a strange and unusual sight: a girl (Daisey Ridley). Not only is the narrative intriguing, but it would be fascinating to see a Star Wars and Marvel hero on the same screen at the same time.
