It’s been two years since Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) stopped himself from a regrettable act of revenge on Purge Night. Now serving as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), his mission is to protect her in a run for president and survive the annual ritual that targets the poor and innocent. But when a betrayal forces them onto the streets of D.C. on the one night when no help is available, they must stay alive until dawn… or both be sacrificed for their sins against the state.
Frank Grillo (Sargeant) is the only character who had what it takes to make it to third film...well, Carmen Ejogo (Eva Sanchez) had what it takes, she just turned down the role.
James DeMonaco hopes to continue his success by returning for the 3rd
Purge film, of which he directed and wrote the screenplay in both two preceding films:
The hardest part about horror fans is capturing them with a unique film that keeps them engaged. But, one you secure them as fans, they can be the most loyal out of all the genres. This is exactly what the creators of The Purge franchise are hoping for and as long as they can keep coming up with new a fresh sequels each year, they should be able to maintain these loyal fans....just as the Saw did!
