Red Band Trailer for Atomic Blonde.

The film is based on the Oni Press graphic novel series “The Coldest City,” by Antony Johnston & illustrator Sam Hart.

If this film reminds you in anyway of John Wick, there is good reason. Atomic Blonde's Director, David Leitch, was an uncredited director of the Keanu Reeves action film. Leitch also directed the Deadpool 2 teaser, "Deadpool: No Good Deed", that played before Logan in theaters. And, on top of that he is set to direct Deadpool 2!

David Leitch got his start as a Stunt Coordinator and has had TONS of experience. He first started working on films such as Blade, BASEketball, and Orgazmo. He then worked on Fight Club where we was both the stunt coordinator and Brad Pitt's stunt double. The list goes on and on, but here are few other films he worked on too: V for Vendetta, The Bourne Ultimatum, 300, Conan the Barbarian, The Mechanic, TRON: Legacy, etc.

WOW! I was not expecting this kind of trailer based on those two quick teaser we received earlier this week. I love it when a studio gives us the red band trailer right out of the gate. It is the best way to get people hyped about a R-rated film, and this trailer does just that.

Charlize Theron is a complete bad ass in this trailer. She is a female version of John Wick and this film looks to deliver similar results we saw with Keanu Reeves' bad ass character. The fight scenes look very well choreographed and completely realistic, which is what I loved about John Wick. James McAvoy is perfectly cast for this film and I cannot wait until we get to see more of his eccentric character.

There are two things about this trailer that bothered me. First is the film's title, Atomic Blonde. I am not sure why they picked this title and would love to see what their other options were because it does not work for me. Also, the sound design in the fight scenes. I am not sure what they are using for sound effects but the are off and hopefully that will be fixed before the film hits theaters.

I am excited for this film...we get some kick ass action, a no hold barred story, and major sex appeal. I hope this film does well at the box office like Wick, so it proves to Studios that a woman can carry a film and people are willing to pay see this. I know I will be there!
