This is the first live action spinoff in the Star Wars franchise and the first installment in the Star Wars: Anthology Series.
The film is set before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) and 5 years after Star Wars Rebels (2014).
This will mark the first time in which John Williams will not compose a live-action theatrical Star Wars film.
Rogue One is about a group of rebels who set out on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. This is only the first teaser, so don't expect too much to be revealed, but they do show quite a bit and it looks amazing.
I love seeing Disney really going for the woman as the hero. I had my doubts that new comer Daisy Ridley was going to be able to pull of being a badass in The Force Awakens, but she proved me wrong. I hope the same thing happens with Felicity Jones. So far, Felicity has not really proven her action film chops and I keep picturing her as Jane Hawking from The Theory of Everything.
I really loved all the visuals and Forest Whitaker (there is something about his voice that always gets me). The ending of the teaser trailer was spot on with a modern twist on the classic Star Wars music times perfectly to the title placement, gave me goose bumps. Excited!
