Theatrical Trailer

Kristen Stewart, Lars Eidinger, Nora von Waldstätten and Benoit Peverelli previously co-starred in Olivier Assayas' Clouds of Sils Maria (2014).

Olivier Assayas didn't originally intent to make two consecutive films with Kristen Stewart. However, in 2015 he was working on a American production, which fell apart and subsequently created the script for this film in a short matter of time.

Director Olivier Assayas describes Personal Shopper as a companion piece of sorts to Clouds of Sils Maria. Both films star Kristen Stewart who plays a woman on the fringes of wealth and celebrity.

The title of this film still baffles me and I expect something lighter but we get this "dash of pure Hitchcockian brilliance".

I have been a harsh critic of Kristen Stewart and think she is not a good actress. I think she was lucky to land the role of Bella Swan in the Twilight series and there could have been many better choices out there. But I may be in the minority. I think it called it right when I said that Equals was the best role for her, minimal talking. And Personal Shopper may also be a great fit for Stewart. Based on the trailer, she also has minimal talking and mostly has to act based on a reactionary basis.

There have been polarizing reviews where people either love this film or hate it. People even booed during the screening at the Cannes Film Festival. I have a feeling that I will land with the people who hate it and will be skipping this one.
