On the eve of D-Day, a group of American paratroopers are dropped behind enemy lines to carry out a mission crucial to the invasion's success. But as they approach their target, they begin to realize there is more going on in this Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation.
Though the film acknowledges J.J. Abrams involvement, the producer wanted to make it clear that this film has no relationship to the Cloverfield universe. But, then again, this could just be a ploy to surprise audiences later.
Though Bad Robot has a number of thrillers under its belt, Overlord will be the production company's very first R-rated feature.
Wow! First we are greeted to some crazy awesome World War II battle footage, quickly jumping into what can only be called a genre-mixing collection of monsters and gun fights. Love it!
While I typically save horror movies for home viewing, Overlord may be one of those special gems that deserves a theatrical visit.
