The TA staff have been cheering for Deadpool since the Rated PG-13 Joke that Ryan Reynolds played on fans with the help of "Extra" and Mario Lopez. In short, Deadpool was proud of it's R-rating long before the film ever screened before the MPAA and, why not, long before the film ever began filming.

Since Rated-R actioners have been close to extinct since the late 80s, it's nice to see 20th Century Fox taking a chance with the franchise; while also watching Ryan Reynolds have fun with the freedom given by the Rated-R branding.

Oh, and the first reviews are in and Deadpool is (so far) scoring with the critics.

There has yet to be a single piece of video media from this film that we haven't liked, and that's not about to change now. Showing extra faith in Deadpool, we were happy to see that 20th Century Fox was willing to dump millions of dollars in a last-ditched marketing attempt. The only disappointment I found that, after all the posters having fun with the film's release on Valentine's Day weekend, they should have dedicated a single TV spot -- this spot specifically -- to doing a parody of Valentine's Day while showcasing some of the film's very anti-romantic dialogue. Just an idea, but think it could have been great.

What the TV spot does do is open up with a joke about the tendency of professional athletes to sleep around. Perfect, considering this spot was dedicated to the largest professional football event.

Just like the film itself, Deadpool refuses to hold back punches--And we can't help but love that.
