Sound Normal?

Believe it or not, this is the second Stephen King movie that both John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson have starred in. The first was 1408 (2007).

Cell will also be John Cusack's third Stephen King movie. The first being Stand by Me (1986), based on King's "The Body."

In the novel the protagonist Tom McCourt is white and the villain Raggedy Man is black, but in the film this is reversed as they are played by Samuel L. Jackson and Joshua Mikel respectively.

Not being familiar with this book of Stephen King's, I had no idea what to expect when watching this trailer. Having said that, this film look absolutely horrible.

I mean come on, a signal from your cell phone turns you into a zombie? We have seen plenty of zombie films in the past and nothing is quite as cheesy as this. And on top of that, the so-called "bloodthirsty creatures" just look like everyday humans.

There is definitely a low budget feel to this film and somehow they talked in a mega star Samuel L. Jackson and John Cusack to come on board. I was expecting a lot more with 2 well known actors and being based on a very well known Author Stephen King, who has turned out some great horror books.

I guess if someone can talk Jackson into doing Snakes on a Plane, then they could talk him into doing a mediocre sci-fi film.
