we should stop bashing both of them they both are great stories. and they do have some thing in common they got the generation of the internet and video games to read books for fun and enjoyment again. both have completely different stories but they are stories we love and enjoy. so you might love the coming of age story with harry potter while others will love the romance love story of twilight. i think most of us who have read them both love them both and see them as great modern day fairy tales that we can relate to. i mean did anyone honestly think they would go to a midnight release or wait in long lines for a book before either one of these books come out. so lets just stop with the bashing of these two great stories and see the big picture it got young people intrested in book for pleasure again,

i think it's just because harry potter the movie was delaying and twilight movie will release in this year.

I think Twilight is an ok book, but seriously, the rush they're taking to make the movie tells us even the creators know it won`t last long. I read the firts two books in about three days and stopped due lack of time. Never continued reading them after that, didn't feel like it. I loved them when I started but the interest disappeared after about a week...
My opinion though, you can all scream all you want about Edward, I don't mind.

How OLD are you people out there using profanity and slinging mud at each other over which is better - Harry Potter or Twilight? I love them BOTH and like i've said previously, they are TWO DIFFERENT things, so really there is no comparison. Twilight is basically a love story while Harry is a morality tale. No doubt about it, JK Rowling is a BRILLIANT and highly EDUCATED author. She WOULD NOT approve of this immature display on her behalf. And yes, Twilight does appeal to 14 year old girls, but here's a news flash - I'm in my 50s - ANCIENT. There's a whole community out there called Twilight MOMS which I belong to and my log on name refelcts that. However, when I log on to HP sites my name is something else to do with Harry. I love Harry - he's helped me through some pretty rough times in my life - but I LOVE Twilight too. Must be that mom thing - love each one the same, like kids. So let's be open-minded and try to rationally see each other's point of view and have an INTELLIGENT dialog!

to all of you that say "harry potter fans need to lstop comparing twilight..." or what ever let me just say you' all twilight fans started it why would we compare harry potter to twilight we don't i don't care what new book other 14 year old girls are in to but what made me angry was all this people saying "twilight is the new harry potter" and it is not and it will never be! you like the book good for you but stop comparing it to HP or the author to J.K. especially J.K. because you'll just WRONG!! harry potter has reached a level unmatched by any other and definatly not by twilight.

I hope that the editing that has been mentioned is limited to the trailers which are usually jerky. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the comment about some of the special effects. The scene where Edward is running with Bella on his back looks awful. You have to remember though that the total budget for this movie was something like 35 million. The budget for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was around 140 million!!!! Seriously.
Okay, so can we refrain from using profanity when talking about the moive? I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan - the personalized plate on my car reads HGWARTS - my ENTIRE Christmas tree is decorated with Harry Potter ornaments with Hedwig on the top, I have almost every Harry Potter doll imaginable - including the ridiculously expensive Tonner line - but I ADORE Twilight. They're two entirely different genres. I didn't think I'd like books about vampires either - how hokey - but I made the "mistake" of reading the first one and fell head over heels in love with Edward Cullen. TOTALLY. It's like they say, "What do you mean Edward Cullen isn't real?"
So from one UBER Harry Potter fan to all of you out there that don't want to give Twilight a chance - DO! You might like it and let's support the movie for a boy named Cedric Diggory!

Well i've read the books of twilight, and this trailer makes it look like it's gonna really suck compared to the books. Jerky editing, corny looking effects..honestly it looks like a WB sitcom..no offense to the books, because they're ok, but this movie does look like it's going to be a piece of shit

I come here in a unity peace treaty. I adore Harry Potter. Love it, it's the best thing that could've happen to me ( a little over dramatic, but oh well). And up until recently, I thought Twilight was going to be shit. That was until I read the books, now I'm on Eclipse and I say that, the Twilight saga is just as good as Harry Potter. Well, not better...Lol, but it's damn good. So I can't wait to see both!!!

I love Harry Potter. I love Twilight. Since when did the two become mutually exclusive? Why are we fighting about it anyway? Everyone has different tastes. If they didn't, the world would be a very dull place to live. Think about that. Why spout hateful words at people, especially at Stephanie Meyer? She is someone's wife and someone's mother and someone's sister. Nobody deserves to be told to "burn in entertainment hell" for something they wrote. What kind of a person are you? Be happy. Let people have their different opinions and enjoy the beautiful variety that produces in the world.

If you don't like it, why are you watching the trailer and commenting? It doesn't do any good except get people mad, and if you're a good person that's the last thing you want to do. If we love Twilight then leave us to our happiness. You won't see me posting negative comments on movies I don't like. Maybe if you saw a trailer without knowing anything about it, and your thoughts on it weren't good, you'd be entitled to post your opinion. But you guys came here with the intention to criticize and attack. That's just rude. this looks like an episode of smallville with a twist of charmed or buffy plus some cheesy line like "you are my world now" or "you brought a snack" don't compare this shit to harry fucking potter. HP is legend now any book that compares it self to it or any author that compers his/her self to j.k. if in for some deep imbarresment. so to all of you take your "million times used before plot of vampire in love with human" shit and shove it. and to who ever said in the comments bellow that HP uses repeated plot are you serious the vampire and human in love plot is not exactly original is it. I don't get you people. You keep saying that either Twilight is better than Harry Potter or that Harry Potter is better than Twilight. STOP IT!!! Harry Potter and Twilight have nothing in common whatsoever! There are no vampires in harry potter and there are certainly no wizards in twilight. Harry Potter is a coming of age wizard novel whereas Twilight is a romantic vampire novel. They are both excellent books! Stop comparing them!! They have nothing in common!!!

Twilight is such an awesome book, I'm really happy that its going to be a movie, and i'm going to drag all my friends along to see it too. But i will addmitt that i like Harry Potter a lot more. :)

I think Twilight is better just beause Harry Potter got to be extremely repetative and boring after the fourth book. Well i've never read the book... but i'm interested in watching tis movie, seems like a great fantasy movie, even when i don't know anything about it.
