The Last Airbender

It doesn't look too great, IMO. Yeah, Aang's voice sounds weird to us, but that is because we're so used to his "real" voice. But, for me, it took like ten episodes to get used to Zach Tyler's voice. I've always kind of thought it was annoying. For those of you who say Nicola Peltz is ugly, you're crazy. I think she looks fine. The only thing about Nicola that's worrying me is her acting ability (and her lack of a braid). I know that Shyamalan said she's an amazing actress. If she actually is (which I'm doubting), her acting ability just isn't coming through on this trailer. Especially when she says, "I won't let you take him."

Another thought: Zuko's scar is really inconspicuous.

To the person who said the Kyoshi warriors are Japanese: why does Suki have reddish hair if she's Japanese? The ethnicities are supposed to be vague, I think. Everyone's upset about the whole racebending fiasco, and I understand. Just not with Aang. He never looked Asian to me.

Good job M.Night, Fire Nations are now all fcking middle easterns, and so are air benders, way to "bend" the story, cultures, and martial arts background into belonging to "your" people. Just because you are indian or whatever and now you show favorism to ur fellow Hollywood friends and actors by giving them all the parts. God damn it.

That trailer was too short for me to fuly concider its true quality, so i really dont know if i showld either see it or wait untill the dvd comes out, if it ever does. p.s. aang should get a new voive.

If one is a fan, then undoubtedly the fan will watch. There are some contrasting features from the cartoon to the actors, yes, we can all clearly see that. Though, when has that ever stopped things from being good? The most we can do is appreciate how great the effects seem to be and hope the acting will be just as good. I'll be good if there aren't too many Sokka-puns, bless his goofy heart. Though, let's all be brutaly honest here...at least it doesn't look like Dragonball Evolution, where you could tell from the getgo that it was another Power Ranger's theme...but with one hero. This movie has the potential to be good enough to say "1 ticket for 'The last Airbender' " out loud in a public area.

To the person with the asian comment.

Not all of the characters in the series were of any oriental decent, as it is an alternate reality in an asian-esque setting.

Also, the young actor to play Ang was choosen based on his martial arts skill and age.

Zack can't really be the acting role, so of COURSE the voice is going to sound different. One is a real kid.

Personaly, I think the actors hired look fine, and within the realms of the Avatar universe. This always get different when bookes, manga, or anime get turned into movies. Always.

If you can't handle the piece as it is, as something that's NOT the origional, then just don't watch it.

I started watching the cartoon on Nick with my nephews and nieces it soon became one of my many guilty pleasures to DVR so I could watch it when I had spare time...Dude don't screw this up for me some mediums translate differently please don't take poetry and turn it to s#@t!

This movie looks good, but what's with Aang's voice? I hope they fix that. and at least there's more bending this time around than the last trailer. And Katara is cute. Not a GREAT movie, but it looks good.

Oh my God, they are all white! That is so sad?!?? WHy would they ruin such a beautiful story like this? This iis all suppsoed to be Chinese culture, with Chinse martial arts, with the exception of the Kyoshi warriors which is Japanese.

I cant believe they did this to my favorite cartoon of all time. This is horrible. Im not going to watch this, And katara in this movie is ugly. She's supposed to be Chinse and absolutly gorgeous!

My heart is broken, and I refuse to support another big budget film fuill of white actors especially since it's supposd to be full of CHinese charatcers. What;s so hard about visiting Shaolin in China and hiring one their preteen martial artists to be Aang? These guys are idiots, and the writers even though they are white, should of not have let this loser make this movie. SAD!!!

The bending looks amazing! Who cares if Aangs voice sounds a little funny. The movie itself looks like it's going to be the bomb! I've been waiting for over a year to watch this movie and I WILL love it. I'm very sure of that.
