Trailer musicI couldn't believe what I was hearing.
It's such a rip off from the soundtrack of The Dark Knight... Really weird that that's allowed... Well they probably arranged it somehow... Still odd...

TRAILER MUSIC CREDITSThe music heard in the trailer was not composed by Michael Giacchino. The soundtrack was designed specially for the campaign by an independent company named "Two Steps From Hell" formed by two composers Nick Phoenix and Thomas J. Bergersen.

Kick assI love this trailer. i 've been playing it over and over on my home theater system really loud and i just can't wait for the movie to come out (especially at the imax theater) .. it sounded like the dark knight music for a second there, but then it got better and better. J.J Abrams has me always hooked on his tv shows and movies...

Technology/SFX Love Fest?Indeed it is a fabulous trailer, but it will take more then cool technology and SFX welded to an interesting soundtrack to convince me this is something more than an extended music video. Trailers have a job to do: sell tickets, and this one seems to be up to the task. The real question is whether the movie itself will justify the cost to get in and view it. I don't think the verdict is in on that yet since the movie has yet to air.

Trailer MusicThe proper title for the music in this awesome trailer is - 'Down with the Enterprise' by Two Steps from Hell. According to a soundtrack website.

Superb!I'm 50 years old and have been watching Star Trek since the BBC first showed a trailer with the Enterprise upside down.........loved the original series and The Next Generation....but it lost its way after that....!
Finally...something to get me excited about it all again....lets hope the finished product lives up to expectations!!

Kick AssThe Star Trek series was before my time, and I'm glad I'll finally get to experience this universe, albeit somewhat changed and reimagined, with a modern look and feel, so that I can actually enjoy it. I have to agree that this will bring in new fans, sure as hell brought me in, hopefully they continue this "reboot" with more movies so I can keep going with that. Maybe I've just been spoiled with modern films and their various advancements, but it's hard for me to go back to all these older movies in these franchises and enjoy them, so when movies like this or Casino Royale come along, it makes me happy that I can join in as a fan without any trouble.

Trek is BACKAgreed, this is going to make the franchise so much more respectable and will not only please the die-hard fans but evidently inspire many more to join. Oh and WHAT ARE THESE STUNNING SOUNDTRACKS THEY ARE USING FOR THESE TRAILERS, this one in particular MY GOD it is epic beyond proportions I MUST HAVE IT but fear these are all official OST tracks so might have to painfully wait for that official release. But if anyone does recognize any of the trailer tracks please let me know….especially this one… HELL YEAH TREK IS BACK!!
by pltnmphoenix | March 7, 2009, 9:32AM
NiceCool.. the way I see it ..definitely time to make the franchise more epic and action oriented.
And to all the hardcore fanboys/gals out there. .. with all the time travel stuff where they screwed with stuff in the past in all of the other series ... this could very well fit into Star Trek lore as a result of time-tampering .. just my geeky thought.
