In Time

Comic Con Trailer

Upscale Font The trailer for In Time that was shown at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con.

In Time presents a world where time has become the ultimate currency. You stop aging at 25, but there's a catch: you're genetically-engineered to live only one more year, unless you can buy your way out of it. The rich "earn" decades at a time (remaining at age 25), becoming essentially immortal, while the rest beg, borrow or steal enough hours to make it through the day. When a man from the wrong side of the tracks is falsely accused of murder, he is forced to go on the run with a beautiful host More Trailer Details

Justin Timberlack CANNOT act
Justin Timberlake is a terrible actor and should not receive major roles!!! I love sci-fi but due to his lack of talent in the acting department and the fact that they gave away the whole movie keeps me from paying $12 at the theater. I wish they would've went with a real actor. He isn't even funny on SNL.

Well...
I think it looks good, but...I feel like I just watched the entire movie in this trailer.

Wow..
Donaldo, are you really comparing Timberlake to Sinatra? He's a good actor but not that good, and I'm not so certian he can pull off this type of movie. It does look interesting though. And I agree jeff, Cillian Murphy can do anything. He's amazing.

Well..
I think it's safe to say this trailer sucked. Really poorly edited. That being said, I'm a sucker for a good sci-fi concept and this has enough good talent in it to get me to pay for a ticket.

And yeah, this does seem a lot like Gattaca which is a very good thing.

Look Good
Reminds me of GATTACA and that is a good thiing. I will check this out.

Freejack-esque
I'm sure the film will be interesting considering its themes, but I didn't really like the trailer (Big Bang Theory cameo mixed with some Michael Bay cookie cutter stuff). I definitely see the Logan's Run concept. JT on the run, he meets rich peope, then goes on the run with a rich girl... I prefer Repo Man.

Equillibrium
Wow, I actually think this looks good, the only comparison to Gattaca I would draw is the poor vs. rich subplot and that it's in the near future. Which we can go for a long list with these topics, I'm gonna go ahead and throw equilibrium out there to add to the discussion though.

I should clarify
I think Timberlake is a good actor, for what I've seen so far - Alpha Dog, Social Network, and of course I always love him on SNL. But in a role like this one he has to sell the suspense of the film and show more diverse qualities as an actor by showing fear and despair. He's not just playing a real world character, which he can do usually by bringing himself to the role, he also needs to show that he can do shoot-out/fight scenese without looking corny. I am just merely skeptical.

Logan's Run/ Gattaca
I agree with a couple of comments, the scenery brings back to mind Gattaca as for the story line reminds me of Logan's Run...Should be an interesting movie; there is one more movie...but it escapes my mind for now

J.T. is supported by The Good & The Many
I have to agree with sam51, first movie that came to mind when I was watching this... GATTACA... The "Night" scenes... the "River Bed" scenes, the "Clean-Cut" looking actors and actresses...

I also agree with Jaja Meng! & Thevoiceofreason... I like J.T. as well, but believe the opposite of Donaldo... I liked Sinatra as well. I liked J.T. in THE SOCIAL NETWORK and especially in ALPHA DOG. I've always imagined him in a "James Bondish" kind of movie, he can pull it off.

AWESOME casting ensemble, BRAVO Andrew Niccol and 20th Century Fox

WHAT'S PLAYING IN OCTOBER?... I'M IN!

I don't know
The concept always sounded cool to me back when it was called I'm.Mortal. But this trailer, I can't shake the sense of Gamer. Not that there are any narrative similarities, it just looks unfortunately silly. Good reviews would restore my faith though. And yes Timberlake is actually a good actor, from what I've seen. I really don't think this evokes Gattaca at all though....

hmmm
This could be ether ridiculous or mind blowing ...ether way I applaud there originality!
by samd51 | July 23, 2011, 8:00PM
wow
I really like the idea behind this movie. I also love the Gattaca feel that the trailer evokes
by donaldo | July 23, 2011, 7:06PM
Timberlake is an everthing star
I humbly disagree. Justin Timberlake could play the lead in a biopic of Anne Frank. He is more of a star than Sinatra was, and a better actor to boot.
by jerff | July 23, 2011, 5:00PM
Timberlake is not an action star
I just don't buy J.T. in these types of roles. Sci-fi action is out of his domain. Cillian Murphey however can do any movie and bring a major redeeming quality to it.
