The Day the Earth Stood Still is 20th Century Fox's contemporary reinvention of its 1951 classic. Keanu Reeves portrays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on our planet triggers a global upheaval. As governments and scientists race to unravel the mystery behind the visitor's appearance, a woman (Jennifer Connelly) and her young stepson get caught up in his mission – and come to understand the ramifications of his being a self-described "friend to the Earth."

It is really too bad that turned an EXCELLENT
movie into crap! The original movie is perfect and should have been done straight. It still stands up today with no updating needed except for maybe the ship and the robot. Honestly, why can't hollywood leave good things alone. I urge all of you to see the 1951 film!

Trailer

His name is David Richmond-Peck. I just saw him in 'Married Life'. I have a friend in Washington who has worked with him before. He has just been cast in Roland Emmerich's '2012' which they might be calling 'Farewell Atlantis'. I watched the trailer on E.T. a few nights ago and noticed he was in it. I went to see 'Hancock' (the trailer was supposed to be there) but there was no sign of it. I'd like to see it in the theatre. Does anyone know which movies it will be attatched to? Also - what is the first thing he says in the interview?

Does anyone know who the guy is interrogating Keanu? This trailer rocks! It would have been really cool for the teaser to just see that interview and more on the next trailer but it got me anyway. Can't wait to see this one!
