not good, but yet not the original iether
Clearly the message at the end of movie was lost here. I recent download the original and found myself liking it much better than the remake. And the point of making the earth stand still was that we are not alone in universe and give human a second chance. Not the case in the remake. YES remake was mistake in writting.

Wasn't so bad
I thought this movie would be a tragedy . Far from it . Yes Klaatu could have could have explained some more but, it was hardly necessary otherwise it would have been preachy.

The Day the Earth Stood Still
I liked it. It was a much better effort than the hatchet job Sivester Stallone did on the Judge Dredd movie .... now that was a natural disaster of global proportions.

Not a good day
Oh my god. Keanu Reeves.
This is more soul destroying than the Wicker Man remake.

pants!
Appalling. and that's just keanu Reeves wooden acting.
there a billion comic books and sci-fi novels out there just screaming to be made into movies. Instead Fox gives us this stinker of a remake that didn't need making.
how about hollywood pays decent writers to adapt printed media to the screen rather than throw megabucks at lazy effects driven movies.
And while they're at it, employ some different actors from the collosal pool of out of work actors instead of the same faces time and time again.

horrible.
I can't believe how horribly they're butchering a classic movie. This has always been one of my favorites. I died insde when they announced they were making this.. I didn't think it was possible to die twice.
