A Losing Battle from Start to FinishMy wonderful Mom rarely makes it to a movie theater. She prides herself on her ability to judge how good (or bad) a movie is... from its trailer or a brief clip on LIVE! with Regis and Kelly. After watching Battle: Los Angeles, I wish I had done it Mom’s way... That way, I could have avoided two hours of frantic motion that goes nowhere.

God help them if they failedIf aliens ever did come to earth and tried to destroy or enslave us and FAILED they would be ****ed big time. And not just them, an event like that would, I think, lead to a version of humanity that would not tolerate any potential alien threat to itself. Maybe that is, in reality, the safest, most rational stance to take.

@AaronNote: They are supposed to travel faster than light (otherwise intersolar space travel in an adequate scope of time is just NOT possible).
And I would say wiping out a planets population by pressing a single button is far easier than traveling faster than light.
The only exception would be if "they" come from our or at least one of our near neighboring solar systems (which is just not likely - as things stands today).

If you think this looks like Skyline......you're an olympic-level retard. We could sit here and poke holes in whether aliens would bother landing instead of wiping us out from space. Or any of the other usual science that the forum trolls drag out from under their rocks and begin their sentences with, "actually...". Fact is, this movie looks really good as an entertainment piece. Enjoy it for what it is.

@SamuelTeeI don't think you realize the scope of exactly what it would take to simply press a button and eradicate all humans on earth. That kind of power is far beyond space travel. Not to mention If an alien race was to travel all the way to our planet for conquest than it wouldn't want to compromise the resources it came for now would it? Hand to hand combat would be necessary although it wouldn't exactly be a fair fight since they would have taken absolutely every possible measure to ensure victory. No sending soldiers into battle with inadequate armor for them :). But hey who knows? If there is even another civilization in the universe that would ever be at the right level of sophistication to receive our transmissions our world would have already ended by then. So let's have a toast to the security that comes with an insane amount of distance. ;D

trashLooks terrible..I will not be going. Exactly what is wrong with Hollywood Movies.

Not another oneThe trailer looks rubbish, the effects look mediocre and the acting looks like something you see on a daytime soap.
This years Skyline for sure

@AaronLogical reasoning tells us that if an alien race was to make itself known and travel all the way to our world it would be purely for conquest ... and it would simply press a button to wipe us out - completely.
I just can't believe that "they" (the filmmakers or whomever) always make alien-invasion-movies where the alien invaders (comming from outer space with technology that HAS TO BE millennia further advanced than ours) have to fight with "weapons" man to man against us.
It is as if we would colonize another continent (nowadays) with dung forks.

@ esdsixLogical reasoning tells us that if an alien race was to make itself known and travel all the way to our world it would be purely for conquest. Were already advanced enough to know how unique our world is and we ourselves have already had talks regarding the colonization of other planets. Now regardless of whether we will be able to do this anytime soon that should give us an idea of what we would be dealing with. Any gentle race of extra-terrestials would steer clear of us. Maybe they'd document us to satisfy there own quest for knowledge, but if tommorow there were a million ships hovering our planet in plain sight we could know for certain they mean us harm. Any intelligent and gentle race would have known to phone ahead and at least let us know they're coming ;)

?I cant share in the bad press against alien presence. But for entertainment purposes, I will still see the film. Seems that there are so many negative aspects on life not of this planet. But why? And what are they trying to implant into our consciousness? To act like a fool when we see something that doesnt look like fools running our planet? Its an interesting analogy. Dont get me wrong, I love movies of all types. But, I've been seeing a lot of negative aspects on extra terrestrials..I feel like this is their way of disclosure, to lie to us about what we've yet to understand.. IF there was an attack, maybe just maybe it wouldnt be alien, it'll just LOOK that way. Think about it. However, this movie looks great, and full of action..

BHD???Wow never thought it could be that way, an alien movie mixing with Black Hawk Down would be FREAKIN AWESOME

RE: lizkilljoyThanks for commenting back! So the movie was awesome, eh?
Can you give any other information without providing spoilers?
Single installment or does this look like start of a franchise?

AwesomeI'm the one that had posted about the movie in the last trailer we got. I got to see a special screening of the whole movie last year...and I can say this movie is great! Terrific cast and Aaron Eckhart shines here...it's a mix of Distict 9 meets Black Hawk Down. I'm really looking forward to seeing it again, it's action-packed...it has a different feel to most alien invasion movies.
by thebadger99 | January 14, 2011, 4:01PM
heyThis movie look pretty solid and i got mad respect for aaron eckarth as an actor Too many different alien movie try to portray the patriotic united states aspect of an alien invasion like Id4 but if there was indeed an alien invasion and it was 50 years in the making we'd prolly be in the losing end I hope it is as i think it is and that there is follow up to this in different cities.

battle los angelesi will see.t i would like to see how it ends in all this kind of movies we allways win this look,s diferent
by Left4dead2 | January 13, 2011, 5:32PM
Better than mostOkay to those who say this is anything close to Skyline...did you even see Skyline? Did you not notice that, unlike Skyline....this looks awesome. Granted, the special effects were decent in Skyline; this movie actually had character development and FANTASTIC special effects. If this is as good as its made to look...it could look at being nominated for the 2012 golden globes as best picture!
by flabbybuns | January 13, 2011, 3:10PM
Not SkylineGuh,
Stop trying to compare this to Skyline. That movie was just about showcasing effects that can be done on a budget. This is a real movie.
And I think the last trailer has a post by somebody that saw an unfinished version and said it was awesome. (so there)

SkylineThis does not look as bad as Skiyline, but it does look similar. I gave Skyline a chance, so, I feel I should give this one a chance, too.
by Nick Van Damme | January 13, 2011, 6:52AM
Yes!That's how you make a trailer!
It's funny: in the end you can see goldtooth happily shouting 'we did it' only seconds after to see the huge craft come out of the ground, sucker!

Looks EpicHoly s h i t, this looks brilliant. Hopefully it turns out to be the blockbuster of the year.
by Ladon | January 13, 2011, 1:22AM
ScoreMusic ala Inception? A few octaves higher, but it seems trailer composers have been instructed to give the 'long foreboding brass hit' scores another shot.
by AQueryan | January 12, 2011, 9:35PM
Why must there always be 'that guy'?Looks exactly like Skyline? How old are you - 14? Because it doesn't seem that you have a lot of cinematic reference points to draw from. Alien invasion is a motion picture sub-genre of science fiction. This looks NOTHING like Skyline except in the most superficial / trivial way. Why must so many people with so little of worth to say be provided with access to computers. The only thingk that 'Looks Bad' is your limited perception.
by Cakers | January 12, 2011, 12:59PM
EpicI wouldn't ever compare this to Skyline, that movie was terrible, this looks EPIC!!!

hell yesWith ID4 I knew going in the humans were going to make it out okay, this....I don'y know it looks more tragic.
Either way, I'm in.

by Aaron | January 11, 2011, 9:20PM
...looks spectacular
by NoctisCaelum | January 11, 2011, 8:19PM
NoTrust me this will be nothing like Skyline. Instead of seeing stupid characters argue amongst each other and all the retarded drama and stupid stuff they do, this one will be from the point of view of trained soliders during a catastrophic event, and is going to be about pure survival
by Farzan | January 11, 2011, 7:17PM
Looks BadLooks exactly like Skyline. Why so many bad alien movies?
