Still looks fake..
LOL... I love how people get so defensive as if they had a hand in the production. The Blue Fish men/women still look soo silly - just to me, perhaps - that I can't wait to see so I'll laugh as hard as I will in Twlight 2 or 2012. As for the age old plot, sure that's a problem, but moreso as this trailer seems to give away EVERYTHING, leaving nothing left. We even already know who to root for. Any other surprises, I hope?

Woww!
OKoou did again James!! Another Titanic movie!

Haters FUCKOFF
kshee23...Really? You are fucking genius. Maybe you should write a script based upon NOTHING THAT HAS EVER BEEN CREATED EVER! The fact is almost every intellectual property today is a derivative of something that has come before. Star Wars was inspired by the Akira Kurosawa film The Hidden Fortress. A lot of filmmakers usually base their films on something they have seen before, but put their own twist upon the story.

To the "Dances with Wolves" whiners....
"it's Dances with wolves in space". I'm only going to say this once, and I'll type real slow so you can understand me: "The Lion King" is "Hamlet" (Shakespeare). And before that, many of our comedies and tragedies are based on ancient, I mean really old Greek stories. The re-telling of stories to fit the times is as old as...well, as we are; say 10,000 years give or take. So, relax. It's OK. I promise.

Well Well Well
Its seem James Cameron, has been keeping deep deep thoughts in his mind. I hope they are just as great on the screen. Can't wait to see and hope that its worth it.

What happens to the avatar?
So... when he's not in the machine controlling the Avatar... what does the avatar do?

"DANCES WITH ALIENS" - instead of civil war era united states, it's set on a futuristic off world. we've seen this before y'all.

Avatar for the Ages
"Avatar' looks unbelievably good. I believe it! It looks to be a breakthrough film for all media; one that will lead to holographic (genuine 3D) film within our lifetimes. As the standard movie viewing experience.
The theme of valour under morally suspicious circumstances in a faraway place could not be more timely. Conflict metals and gems, anyone?

A stellar ensemble. I do not see how this can go wrong.

First Track
The first track that plays in this trailer is 'My Name Is Lincoln' by Steve Jablonsky from the Island movie soundtrack.

Avatar
I can't wait for this. I went to the Avatar day event and saw it on IMAX and in 3D in NYC and I promise you this will be legendary. If you weren't sold on the first trailer, you have to be on this one.

by wolfmanthe | October 31, 2009, 5:25PM
none
im not a fan of motion capture, but this looks great

STUNNING
From the little shown here, the CGI of the Na'vi faces looks extremely photo-realistic. More than anything I have seen elsewhere in film. Robert Zemeckis keeps putting out stuff like Beowulf or Polar Express, and it looks weird/creepy. AVATAR looks like someone finally has done CGI characters right. This looks like an epic film. Welcome back Cameron!

uhh

by Mofongo316 | October 31, 2009, 7:27AM
AWESOME!!!!
The film, the animation, the action, all look amazing, so forget if the plot isn't that original, neither was True Lies,or Titanic for that matter, and look how they turned out. James Cameron is the man!
by SovietEngland | October 31, 2009, 6:45AM
Wow
Looks amazing!

blue cartoons
So...What? This parapalegic dude climbs into a machine and turns into a blue cartoon? And then him and the other blue cartoons fight the human in their cartoon robots?
by SSSJDanny | October 30, 2009, 8:34PM
Wow!
I saw the first trailer thinking that the visuals looked stunning, now I see this new trailer and am totally bought.

Loser
I hope Cameron can relocate his a$$ after he loses it on this steamer.
by tgs | October 30, 2009, 11:21AM
lame plot
Really this was a far better story when it was Dances with Wolves. Awesome visuals can't trump a lame contrived plot.
by Landaeta | October 30, 2009, 10:08AM
Avatar will be Epic.
There once comes a film that shivers through my skin with exciment. Avatar seems beautiful, epic, amazing, and spectacular. Sure it might not be like some ( a few) people say "very original story" but I say if it's not original then You have never seem anything like this before so keep it close. Let's hope this film would stand for its name. Lately, we haven't got any luck with films.
by jim wang | October 30, 2009, 9:10AM
nice job
look really friendly.
by awerling | October 29, 2009, 7:11PM
Zzzzz
This will probably be entertaining for those who haven't seen this plot a million times before.

Sure looks pretty though.
by Mysterius | October 29, 2009, 6:40PM
Promising
It looks promising. I'll still be cautious of the plot until the film actually shows, but it seems decent enough so far. The visuals, of course, are stunning.

If nothing else, I hope Avatar succeeds so that James Cameron will have the wherewithal to do Battle Angel Alita right.

And perhaps if Battle Angel Alita does well, its success will influence DreamWork's Ghost in the Shell film. Hopefully, one's success won't work at odds with the other.

Back on topic: EPIC!

WOW.
FUcking EPIC
by acaddyfordaddy | October 29, 2009, 1:27PM
An improvement.
Well, at least this trailer explains what the movie is about, as opposed to the first trailer which was just an excuse to show off a bunch of CGI.

Hope it's good
by Blackula | October 23, 2009, 9:26AM
murky vid but still cool
the epic scale and camerons peerless action pacing should offset the medicre fern gully 2.0 storyline

either way at least cameron is now fully focused on Battle Angel Alita
