FLAWLESS!!!haha
This is a great idea, i agree with making it dark as saw with a dexter serial killer thing going on...gore is a must and make it full of jumps and give it a great twist at the end...
GO FOR IT MAKE IT...
AND I AGREE BARAKA SHOULD HAVE SKINHEAD..
by angryfan | May 11, 2011, 5:19AM
thats some straight BS
all in all it does look cool...BUT i am very irate at the fact that obviously Baraka isn't Baraka, Reptile isnt Reptile, Jax and Sonya aren't regular po-po they're secret service agents (or some shiz like that, same idea) and well my last point is sorta petty but why the fu

CRAP
Seen it.. HATE IT... Captain Jacks a police officer? REALLY???!!! umm memory serves me corectly .. being age 37 remember kicking ass in the arcade, it was Striker that was the cop. as for baraka not being From the outer relm .. hmmmm as well as reptile but crazed people from the planet earth??? .. PLEASE DONT make this movie .. your going to mess it up .. ya ya you dont have to have the stupid costumes directly from the game but damn get the foundations correct before you make something like this .. this movie might work on young noobs just getting into the game but as for us old heads .. you ****ed it up in the first 15 seconds when i saw Captain jacks briggs on the POLICE door

Poor Cage
Dude Johnny Cage always dies!!!!!! This movie will be sweet! Just hope they make it and stay away from the videogame stuff.

MK
already a disappointment. stupid writer, & director dont need to cram in all the characters into one 90 min. movie. to future directors/writers, next time, just take ONE character from the game, and make a movie, dedicated the movie to the whole characters background, plot, and storyline. and then RETIRE ! stay away form the camra. let someone else take over the story line, into the next chapter.

dont stay on for the next sequeals, get a fat A$$, and destroy the plot. just like the 90s bat man sequels, or the first mortal combat movies.

topless
around 7:13-7:14 when scorpion is looking at the sub-zero file, if you time it right there is a pic of a topless girl that he is looking at, It is like a split-second so you have to do some frame by frame. it is just after the sub-zero face flash.

New Take on Mortal Kombat?
I like the Realism.
But if they make this movie they better make it somewhat close to the REAL MORTAL KOMBAT
and not make EVERYTHING UP.
by m.k. steel | August 3, 2010, 6:19AM
thumbs up bt
i think johnny cage should have lived and let robin shou play liu kang again

Give it the green light!
Warner as everyone else has said, green light this project pronto.

What it needs: a good back story.
Good character development, not just a 1 min back story on all the characters then we thrust into the story no. Give this movie at least 120 min running time so we can flush out the characters, plot and what have you.
Make the fights epic, give it an epic score behind the fights, make the characters awesome and loveable and associate them with the game so people don't feel alienated and I swear you'll have a cash cow on your hands!

Mortal Kombat: Rebirt
people that like this what the f@&k! it's based on a game why do you want this realistic? the 1st movie is great, just make a decent sequel unlike the 2nd movie.
by trun | June 25, 2010, 1:09AM
These cops are sure brilliant, aren't they?
Johnny Cage: Undercover Agent. Because when you need a guy for undercover work, it's always a good idea to recruit potentially recognizable celebrities.

GET OVER HERE!
Finally!! after just viewing the trailer, (the trailer!!), I have lost all memory of the previous two films. Someone got it right, it has a christopher nolan feel to it, very real as though these characters really could exist! Can't wait to see this on the big screen, and to think i got excited about the smurfs!

B-Movie
How does Michael Jai White keep getting work? He sucks as an actor. Every line is forced and every expression is fake. The horrible CGI in the beginning is a tell tale sign that this will be another crappy B-movie.
by mattcolvin24 | June 16, 2010, 12:13PM
Mortal Komboner
"Saw" gore+ Avatar CG = barakaboner (kinda close to a certain head of states name dont ya think?)

This remake has all the elements of finally doing the MK saga justice. Yes it strays from the original story-line, but come on, did we play the game to get intimitately close with these characters? I think not. I played so I could pull people's heads up or uppercut them on to stalagtites. Thats why I played. Get over the story. Its a reinvention and it works. Make it rated R and bring on the blood, this thing is a gold mine waiting to happen. Ill buy tickets right now.

Want to see it, but its not Mortal Kombat
This reminds me of the Doom movie. I personally think that was a good movie, not great, but good fun when blowing time. The creatures were taken right out of Doom 3. The story was NOT Doom on the other hand, the only similarity to the story was that it mostly took place on Mars. Change the name, and it you would not recognize it as Doom.

These are not the characters from the game, so why even get the liscense. Make the characters more original, and this looks like it would be a good movie to see on its own merrits. There is no reason to pay money for a liscense you are just going to butcher. The sole reason to do that is because you don't think your original idea isn't up to snuff.

mortal Kombat rebirth
If anyone made this movie they would be sitting in hundreds of millions. we all know mortal kombat have a good strong base of fan. Hungry us! I remember my first playing that game wanting to see that turn into a good movie. Get some people that can act, and stop putting such cheesey lines in there. Don't take away the raw power of mortal kombat must be as or more bloody than the game. the first two movies were crap for adults. bad actting took so such away from the movie. I want to say you will make so much money witht this movie its going to make people want more.

Warner Bros. you have GOT!!! to give Kevin Tancharoen the green light and funding to make this movie, I absolutely LOVE the real world feel , his idea for this film is just freaking awesome, so WB if your reading this GIVE KEVIN HIS CHANCE AT IT!!!, and let him do it his way!!
by Movie master | June 11, 2010, 4:10AM

i want in the production team for this movie!!!
ok... 1. this movie, should definitely get the green light for production. the 1st and 2nd mortal kombat games was dark, gritty, had a horrific twist to it.. since the majority of the fans at the time were under 17, the movies had to be made for acceptability, while maintaining some integrity to the game.. us hard core fans, wanted more, we wanted chills running through our spines, we wanted a real factor, like being at home alone, and thinking of what you've just seen, and think to yourself, just for one second.. "oh ****, this **** is real" then you get that, BOOM in your chest, your heart starts pounding, fingers start shaking, body starts getting that prickly feeling like your being touched, but no ones there.. all you can do, all you can think, is.. GET THOSE LIGHTS ON!! now your ok, and your adrenalin starts to receed from your bloodstream, and your like" DAMN, THAT'S ONE HELL OF A ****IN MOVIE" potential producers of this concept, please.. please, no chessyness, make this as real as morbidly twisted as possible, gore, gore and more gore.. kinda like saw meets ninja assasin, now, reptile perfect.. baracka, lose the hair.. and slim him down a bit.. keep along the theme of it being real, i'm 28, me and the other hardcore mk fans are grown up, we want the movie that way as well, the good guys don't have to win in this one.. you can use concepts like dark matter, to introduce the out world realm in the movie.. and growing phenominas like shadow beings.. to make sense of noob saibot, goro and shiva as fourth dimensional beings.. you know, using some real world concepts of today, to truly give the film a real feel to it.. they ****ed up street fighter, and dragon ball.. mk, is hollywoods last chance to make a decent video game movie.. DON'T DISAPPOINT US.. this could be a box office smash, if done right.. hardcore fans will the real world theme of it.. and the younger generation will be introduce to the mk world, with the same thrill, excitement and twisted horrific obsession we had with the first two mk games..

premise
the whole premise of mortal kombat was based around lu kang...i like this plot better, but lets get the facts straight

MK
Incredible!
by Stix~N~Stoned | June 10, 2010, 8:37AM
MK
Looks Very Promising!! How WB would go for it & NOT F*CK it up would be a challenge indeed. Michael Jai White kind of killed Al Simmons/Spawn for me. Terrible adaptation from the comic. I'm glad there seems to be a focus on Sub-Zero & (my favorite character of all time!) Scorpion-I believe the whole premise of MK was based around them.
I greatly agree with GreenC! An HBO/ShowTime series would be bad-a$$ (dollar signs because the cult following would EAT THIS UP!)

MK Rebirth Trailer
OK WARNERS LISTEN UP!!!

You stalled and stalled on giving us the awesome fantasy based films we crave and then you released Superman Returns, which was boring crap.

The only movies you've made money on are the recent Batmans.

Make this movie. Give the Director the freedom to do it as he pleases. Have Chris Nolan attached as Executive Producer, if that makes you feel comfortable, but one way or another give this the green light. Then watch the money and adoration roll in.
by Eternal Writer | June 10, 2010, 3:41AM
Excellent Trailer
It's like Christopher Nolan has inspired a whole new revolution in adaptions... Though his name isn't on it...

by lecomlaxer | June 9, 2010, 8:21PM

by mochonko | June 9, 2010, 2:13PM
Scorp vs. Sub
about time!! Bloody gorey and violent! what more can we ask for? ooh and looks like a good plot to it.
by ru4real | June 9, 2010, 2:01PM
yessssssssssss
There are a couple (VERY few, majority LOVE this new idea) people that are complaining about outworld, fire balls, ice balls, fuzzy balls, blah blah blah. GET OVER IT. If you want magical stuff, go watch sorcerers apprentice. The fact that they center on scoripion and sub zero is epic. This needs to be made......... like YESTERDAY

Piqued my Interest
@Stilgar: It's Baraka, not Blanka and yes, Baraka is a Mortal Kombat character who was introduced in MK:II.

This movie has a very interesting feel to it. It's dark and gritty and it could make for a very entertaining feel. I actually enjoyed the first MK movie if only because I loved seeing all the characters come alive, but I do hope they make this a full-length film. *shudders at Reptile's character*
by dommelsch | June 9, 2010, 7:30AM
Great
Scott Adkins should be IN this movie!
by stilgar | June 9, 2010, 4:18AM

by MovieDude | June 9, 2010, 3:08AM

Omg this looked amazing! Michael J White is gonna be the next Denzel Washington, just a little bit bulkier...
I rly hope they make this into a full length feature. Could turn out to be great if the story is good!
by Dj Atom ONE | June 9, 2010, 12:30AM
Must See !!
This will be SICK!!!!! They have to make this into a full lenght feature. It will do so much better then the previous films.
