Walt Disney Animation Studios returns to the Hundred Acre Wood with Winnie the Pooh, the first big-screen Pooh adventure from Disney animation in more than 35 years. With the charm, wit and whimsy of the original featurettes, this all-new movie reunites audiences with the philosophical "bear of very little brain" and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga, Roo—and last, but certainly not least, Eeyore, who has lost his tail.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez wrote new songs for this movie. The pair then went on to write the music for Frozen.

Winnie the Pooh is the last film from Disney Animation Studios to be hand drawn. As from the next film, Wreck-It-Ralph, the studio made the switch to computer animation.

Tigger earns himself a promotion in Winnie the Pooh: his name now features in the title song for the first time ever.

The film originally contained five stories but this was cut down to three so each one could be told in more detail.

Winnie the Pooh is, without doubt, one of the sweetest, most heartwarming characters ever. There are those who are still angered by the 'Disneyfication' of A.A. Milne's wonderful characters, but I think Disney's take on them only makes them even more cute and joyful.

Eeyore's bluesy ways, Piglet's worrying, Tigger's over exuberance and Pooh's hapless ways all combine to make this adventure in the Hundred Acre Wood one of the most enjoyable that Disney have ever produced. Watch out for the brilliant 'Backsun' song- quite simply a joy from start to finish.

While the Winnie the Pooh trailer is certainly enjoyable, there are scenes, such as Tigger bouncing on Pooh, and Pooh talking to his tummy, are not in the actual film, which is a shame as they're very cute moments. But this trailer doesn't only serve to make you want to watch the movie.

It also exists as a very cute little montage in its own right; a reminder of happy childhood memories and long, fun filled days when life was carefree and nothing was more enjoyable than playing with your toys. I defy anyone to watch this and not smile. It's also hard not to shed a tear or two either- not from sadness, but just from the nostalgia the trailer brings.

Winnie the Pooh is not the most complex or in-depth movie of all time, but it is thoroughly enjoyable escapism and a perfect rainy day film.
