Widows is Directed by Steve McQueen. Even though McQueen stormed in the Hollywood limelight after winning an Academy Award for 12 Years a Slave, this will only be his 4th feature film he has Directed: 12 Years a Slave Shame Hunger
Widows will also be Author Gillian Flynn's third film she has received writing credits for: Gone GirlDark Places
Well...on the premise this film looks like another Hollywood film struggling to come up with an original idea. Yet another heist film. But wait...this film has so much more. We get an up and coming Director who does amazing work with Steve McQueen plus a very talented Writer with Gillian Flynn and then you add in an all-star ensemble cast which should equal a recipe for success. I had been wondering why McQueen has not been attached to a project for so long and now we finally get to see what he has been waiting for. This trailer is great in setting the mood and the music plays perfectly. Loved it!
