Abdi, Hassan and Mohammed’s life stories follow a horrifically similar path. All three men are angry, disgruntled and ostracized Muslim European youth born to immigrant parents, and each left everything behind and joined the ranks of al-Shabaab, an extremist Islamic terrorist group in Somalia. Vowing to offer their lives in the group’s pledge to take over the government and impose radical Islam’s rule in Somalia and beyond, within months of arrival, two of the men—Abdi and Hassan—killed themselves in suicide bombing attacks that took dozens of innocent lives. Meanwhile in Denmark, Mohamed’s father struggles desperately to make contact with his son, the only one of the three still alive, and convince him to come back before it’s too late.
