War Machine Feature Trailer

Feature Trailer for Netflix's War Machine.

A pitch-black war story for our times, writer-director David Michod (Animal Kingdom) recreates a U.S. General’s roller-coaster rise and fall as part reality, part savage parody – raising the specter of just where the line between them lies today. His is an absurdist look at a born leader’s ultra-confident march right into the dark heart of folly. At the story’s core is Brad Pitt’s sly take on one of the most polarizing war figures of a generation: successful, charismatic four-star General Stanley McChrystal, who leapt in like a rock star to command NATO forces in Afghanistan, only to be taken down by a journalist’s no-holds-barred exposé.

Who would not want to work with Brad Pitt. Well, War Machine has reunited the A-list actor with several of his co-stars. Brad Pitt has previously worked with Topher Grace twice before, both briefly in Ocean's Eleven and Ocean's Twelve. He also previously worked with Tilda Swinton twice, in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Burn After Reading. Scoot McNairy is reunited with Pitt after they were both in 12 Years a Slave and Killing Them Softly.

David Michod must really like actor Anthony Hayes because Hayes is the only actor to appear in all three of his films: Animal Kingdom, The Rover and War Machine.

The first trailer was such a tease but it still got me interested in War Machine. And, now we actually have a full trailer and I am even more excited to see this film.

I love the juxtaposition of war, such a serious and deadly thing, and the dark humor. This seems like a brutally honest look at America's modern wars and what happens behind the scenes. There is a lot that goes on that us the public have no idea about, and this story is just a glimpse.

War Machine has the recipe for success with a great unique story line coupled with a slew of great actors. With Brad Pitt at the forefront, it will grab people's attention and it will be up to Pitt to deliver another great performance like he did in Inglourious Basterds...which based on this trailer looks like he has nailed it.
