There are many stages of growing up. Villegas beautifully examines that particular one in the early 30s where indulgences in adolescent hijinks may no longer work in one’s best interests. Two Argentine cousins who grew up together in the small northern country town of Villegas but are now drifting apart in their adult lives in Buenos Aries are thrown together for a road trip home when their grandfather abruptly dies. Esteban (Esteban Lamothe) is maturing into a mellower, more responsible lifestyle, while the folksy Pipa (Esteban Bigliardi) is bewildered about his inability to gain traction with any of his own pursuits and hobbies. In Villegas, as with most journeys of the heart, many unexpected things become clear.
