Trailer for Vice, starring Amy Adams, Alison Pill, Christian Bale, Steve Carell and Jesse Plemons.

Vice explores the epic story about how a bureaucratic Washington insider quietly became the most powerful man in the world as Vice-President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today.

Yes, Christian Bale did in fact make it a point to get fat to play the role of Dick Cheney. He gained about 40 pounds, which is a lot considering he dropped muscle mass for the gain. A trick he accomplished by eating lots of pies.

A weird fact, it turns out that Christian Bale and Cheney share the same birthday on January 30th.

The original tone of Vice, when it was called Backseat, was to be a bit more lighthearted and fun. There was even a musical number that Adam McKay eventually cut when the production decided to go with a slightly darker tone.

Even though it has been acknowledged that the film did at one time have a more fun offering, this interesting biopic does still look like a good bit of entertainment. But maybe that's only because we can't get over how Christian Bale looks as Cheney. Incredible. And how can we not love Sam Rockwell as George W?

The only catch is that this Vice trailer is definitely more like a teaser, with focus on a single meeting between Bush and Cheney. So we should get a much better idea of the tone in the second offering, where we get to glimpse more footage and dialogue.
