Veronica Mars Theatrical Trailer (2014)

Theatrical trailer for Veronica Mars.

Years after walking away from her past as a teenage private eye, Veronica Mars gets pulled back to her hometown, an ex-boyfriend with baggage, and an unraveling murder mystery.

The Veronica Mars television show ran for three seasons from 2004-2007. The first two seasons aired on UPN, while the third was picked up to be aired on The CW.

The film was funded by the crowdfunding site, KickStarter. Creator Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell were trying to raise $2,000,000 for the film but ended up raising almost $6,000,000. Those who funded the project received items based on amount donated. Rewards included t-shirts, copies of the script, a digital download of the film, and even a walk-on role.

Jamie Lee Curtis has a cameo in Veronica Mars. She co-starred with Kristen Bell previously in the film, You Again. In the film Kristen Bell's character's brother becomes engaged to her high school nemesis. Jamie Lee Curtis plays Bell's mother who must also face her own high school nemesis (Sigourney Weaver).

Veronica Mars Theatrical Trailer Screencap

A long time ago, we used to be friends Veronica Mars, but I have never stopped thinking about you at all. Behold the power of the crowdfunding site, Kickstarter, with the Veronica Mars movie.

The Veronica Mars theatrical trailer reveals Veronica trying to put her old sleuthing ways behind her while she attempts to make her way into the grown-up world of being a lawyer, working with the classy Jamie Lee Curtis, and dating the sweet but incredibly dull Piz (Chris Lowell, not to be confused with Christopher Lowell although that would be entertaining). However, much to the dismay of her protective father, Keith (Enrico Colantoni) Veronica just can’t stay away from her private investigating ways after old flame Logan Echolls gets accused of murder. If you are a die-hard Veronica Mars fan like myself, this trailer is filled with enough squeal-worthy moments to be considered perfect. If you are not familiar with Veronica and her razor sharp tongue, you can still appreciate the film’s trailer which has enough intrigue and humor to appeal to everyone. As an experienced Veronica Mars viewer, every quick scene is an absolute gas; Mac and Wallace joining forces with Veronica, Leo lending a hand, Keith Mars being the super cool dad we know and love, the return of Gia (Krystin Ritter), and Veronica punching the evil Madison Sinclair.

So many great moments, not to mention the rekindling of Veronica and Logan's relationship which kept audiences aching for a reunion since the show ended in 2007. If you were a casual viewer of the show, which I cannot imagine the words “Casual viewer” and “Veronica Mars” in the same sentence, or you have never seen the show, the trailer still supplies plenty of fun. For the rest of us marshmallows, the Veronica Mars trailer is a sweet treat.
