Venom Trailer

Trailer for Venom, starring Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate and Reid Scott.

The plot is currently unknown, with Sony Pictures only acknowledging what a "badass" character Venom is.

As shown in the opening title cards, Venom was created "in association with Marvel." What that means is that Sony is still taking advantage of whatever licensing they have left, with certain Marvel films taking place (far) outside the MCEU. This is one of those films. So don't expect to see Robert Downey Jr. flying in to make an appearance. Though we originally thought there was a slight chance of seeing Spider-Man's Tom Holland.

When the Venom film was originally announced with Tom Hardy, my initial thought was pure fandom. When and where can I see this movie?!? But the trailers have thrown me off a bit. The first trailer was all about teasing audiences while suggesting a different approach to Marvel's "anti-hero." It looked dark and cool. At least, from the few visuals that were shown.

But this second trailer, I don't know. Is it awesome or terrible? I honestly can't decide. Maybe a few more viewings....
