Trailer for the documentary Typeface.

In a time when people can carry computers in their pockets and watch TV while walking down the street, the twilight of analog media has found new life, inspiring the artists of a digital age in one small midwestern town. A lone employee waits in the cavernous Hamilton Wood Type Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, for visitors every week, a long and often fruitless wait. However, one weekend every month, the quiet enclave springs to life as print workshops led by - and filled with - some of the nation's top design talent, usher in a whole new wave of creativity. At Hamilton, international artisans meet with retired craftsmen and together navigate the convergence of modern design and traditional technique. The museum personifies cultural preservation, rural re-birth and the lineage of American graphic design. This film offers an in-depth investigation into the value and purpose of the supposedly dying media of analog as our society transitions into digital.
