Trailer for The Whole Truth.

Defense attorney Richard Ramsay (Keanu Reeves) takes on a personal case when he swears to his widowed friend, Loretta Lassiter (Renée Zellweger), that he will keep her son Mike (Gabriel Basso) out of prison. Charged with murdering his father, Mike initially confesses to the crime. But as the trial proceeds, chilling evidence about the kind of man that Boone Lassiter (Jim Belushi) really was comes to light. While Ramsay uses the evidence to get his client acquitted, his new colleague Janelle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) tries to dig deeper – and begins to realize that the whole truth is something she alone can uncover.

Hey Mike

We Lose

You Missed Jury Selection

All Witnesses Lie

The Whole Truth is technically Renee Zellweger's first movie role in 6 years, even though Bridget Jones' Baby was released first.

Lupita Nyong'o auditioned for the role that went to Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

Daniel Craig was originally set to star and pulled out four days before filming was supposed to begin. He was replaced by Keanu Reeves.

This will only be Director Courtney Hunt's second time at the helm of a feature film. The first film was Frozen River. She also wrote this film which starred Melissa Leo, Misty Upham and Charlie McDermott.

Although this film contains some well known actors, I was not impressed by this trailer. Renée Zellweger, Keanu Reeves and Jim Belushi have been in many movies and they bring some name recognition to the film, but one thing this group is not known for is acting.

I feel the film follows a typical crime thriller formula we have seen before and will have a typical outcome. So far, based on the trailer, this film falls flat for me and I will most likely skip this one and may catch it down the road on demand, or not.
