Trailer for the Netflix Original film The True Memoirs of an International Assassin.

The action comedy stars Kevin James as Sam Larson, a mild-mannered would-be author who gets mistaken for a killer-for-hire when his fictional novel about an international assassin is published as a true story. When the book is a huge success, he is suddenly kidnapped, taken out of the country, and forced into an assassination plot.

Director Jeff Wadlow has also Directed Cry_Wolf, Never Back Down and Kick Ass 2.

The film originally did not have a distributor. Netflix bought the worldwide distribution rights to the film at the 68th Cannes Film Festival back in 2015.

Génesis Rodríguez originally signed on to play the female lead role as the undercover DEA agent. But on November 23, 2015 Rodriguez was forced to leave the project due to an injury she incurred during the film's rehearsal. That is when the Producers decided to replace her with Zulay Henao.

Who else would you expect to see playing a funny secret agent who is not even mildly even close to being physically or mentally right for the job? Mr. Physical comedy himself, Kevin James. He is not the best actor out there, but he does know how play the underwhelming funny guy.

This is an interesting move by the Producers in selling the distribution rights to Netflix and going straight to On Demand. I wonder if it is because there was not much interest from other Studios or this was part of a larger plan. I am thinking the first one which could be a bad sign. I am slightly torn on this one as it is not my cup of tea and I think I will skip it unless my wife really wants to watch it...I mean since we are Netflix subscribers it will be free, just risk wasting an hour and half of my life.
