As incredible and rich as The Nice Guys looks, the film was first tested as a TV series. The only hitch was that the pilot episode seemed to be going nowhere, so the story was re-tooled to be told as a feature film.

If you are wondering why seeing Russell Crowe and Kim Basinger together feels so right, that's because the duo worked together in the classic cop drama, L.A. Confidential.

Considering that I've been sold on The Nice Guys ever since the red band trailer -- no, wait -- ever since Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, I can only scream praise for what we're seeing. Unlike the trailers before it, The Nice Guys feature trailer drops some of the R-rated content and focuses on the film's brilliant mix of humor and crime. It's fantastic. Have I mentioned that?

Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling are such a natural team that I have to wonder how many casting directors are at this moment trying to work them back into another feature together. What's even crazier is that Crowe has his moments of out-charming Gosling. It's awesome.

There is so much else worth noting that my head is spinning, but I love how sick and morbid the humor is. Classic Shane Black.

Can... not... wait... for... this. End of story.
