The Mule Trailer (2018)
Trailer for The Mule, starring Taissa Farmiga, Bradley Cooper, Clint Eastwood, Michael Peña and Laurence Fishburne.
Clint Eastwood stars as Earl Stone, a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he's just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. He does well--so well, in fact, that his cargo increases exponentially, and Earl is assigned a handler. But he isn't the only one keeping tabs on Earl; the mysterious new drug mule has also hit the radar of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates. And even as his money problems become a thing of the past, Earl's past mistakes start to weigh heavily on him, and it's uncertain if he'll have time to right those wrongs before law enforcement, or the cartel's enforcers, catch up to him.
While Clint Eastwood has made it a point to remain busy behind the camera, this is his first acting gig in over half a decade. And he must have formed a bit of a friendship with Bradley Cooper, seeing that he has gone back to the actor for a second round after American Sniper.
Wow, this film escalates quickly. While the film could first be mistaken for a drama about an old man coming to terms with age, quickly spirals into a Breaking Bad sort of crime saga. A thrilling second half of this The Mule trailer doesn't quite explain. Intense? Maybe.
We know the film is in good hands with Eastwood, so this is sure to be a big hitter. But, the trailer, even with all the footage, plays it safe with limited dialogue or context. So let's see how it looks when given a second preview. With only a couple months to go, expect such a preview shortly.
