In The Judge, Downey stars as big city lawyer Hank Palmer, who returns to his childhood home where his estranged father, the town’s judge (Duvall), is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before.

The film's title role, played by Robert Duvall, was sought by other er, seasoned actors including Jack Nicholson and Tommy Lee Jones.

While the film likes to think it's more of a dramedy, having two heavyweights like Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall play the broken father/son team is likely to draw some tears from audiences. Also - The camera work looks terrific.
